What is your routine including times, meals, snacks, nap, bedtime routine etc.

Also what indoor activities do you do with your LO? Build a den, painting reading etc?x

This is what we typically do for Abigail (shes 18 months)

8am - Get up
8.15am - Breakfast and drink
8:45am - Playtime
10am - Snack and drink
10:15am - Playtime
12.30pm - Lunch and drink
1pm - Naptime and bottle of cows milk
3pm - Playtime
4:30pm - Snack and drink
6pm - Dinner and drink
6:45pm - Bath
7:30pm - Formula (not in bed) and In the Night Garden on TV!
8pm - Bedtime

During the morning playtime sessions, we normally go out and about to the park or playgroup or in the garden or something similar.

Indoor activity wise, we do loads:

*Washing up - Fill you bowl and let LO "wash up" plastic things, Abigail loves this at the min!
*Musical instruments - Use an old quality street tin and some wooden spoons as a drum, dry pasta shapes in container for rattle
*We have some plastic balls from asda (for like £5 a bag i think) and empty them in the bath or their cot as a DIY ball pit
*Use boxes to make a little town for toys to play in

Toddlertoddler.com is a good place to get ideas (Thanks Gina!)

We go outside a lot though.....sandbox, water table, baby pool, balls, sidewalk chalk, slides, running around the neighborhood, helping with the flowers, she loves watering plants, pulling weeds(grass) lol, playing with neighbors. Thanks for this thread.

Mine is up always at 6am sharp and I'm struggling to find a proper naptime.

No probs hun! I'm trying to work out how to plan my day with LO too! I'm switching him to 1 nap a day so though I'd get a general idea of what other peoples routines are. It helps me out a bit :) xx

Would be nice to see more peoples routines x

We are now on a solid 1 nap routine (if you remember, we went from 2-1 nap 2 weeks ago).

6am-11am awake
11-1:30pm nap
1:30pm (sometimes 1, sometimes 2pm)-7pm bed

And he falls asleep immediately (before he fought bedtime for up to 2 hours!!!)

It works out AMAZING for us. It just took time to adjust. He chose those hours.

My LO is 15 months

7:10am Wakes up
7:30am Breakfast (I give him his milk cup with 6oz whilst I sort breakfast)
10:30am (ish) Snack
11:30am (well some point between 11:30 and 12 he goes off) Nap time
1:30pm Wakes up
1:35pm Lunch
3:30pm (ish) Snack
5:45pm Dinner
6:30pm Milk
6:50pm Bathtime
7:15pm Finish milk, brush his teeth then stories.
7:30pm Bed (usually asleep by 7:40)

He has only had one nap a day since he cut his second one at around 10 months, and he has pretty much set his routine.

Things we do inside-
-Cleaning seems to be one of his favourite things as he keeps getting a duster/his little hoover/tissue and pretending to clean.
-Read books as he loves them.
-Play with his toys (he especially loves trucks, anything musical or anything that spins).
-Put music on and do some dancing, or I sing rhymes with him.
-Playing in his tent or tunnel.
-Get a bowl of water, put a towel underneath and let him have some fun. Usually just put some of his bath toys in it.
-He also likes to help wash up (he 'finds' the sponge and waves it around everywhere soaking himself, me and the kitchen floor!) and he likes getting plates/cups etc out so I rearranged the cupboards so he has one filled with his plastic plates, bowls, tupperware, measuring spoons, plastic stirring spoon... that he can empty.

He loves being outside digging/playing in water/on his bike/spinning his windmills, oh and he loves to try and eat dirt/stones/grass if he thinks no-one is watching however the giggle gives him away  We also meet up with friends too.

So do most of you mums give LO there dinner after nap? My HV said he should have dinner before his nap?! :s confused as what to do. This is the routine I have wrote up and due to start tomorrow. Please give your opinions...

7am - 8oz Cows milk.
8am - Breakfast.
8:30am - Get dressed, brush teeth etc.
9am - Go park or play group. If we stay in then building dens, tea parties, ball games, music time, dancing etc.
10:15am - Snack.
10:30 - 11:15 - Creative play.
11:30pm - Dinner.
12pm - Nap. (2 hours)
2pm - Snack.
4:30pm - Dinner.
5pm - Quiet time ie books, jigsaws, building blocks, colouring etc.
6pm - Supper
6:15pm - Bath.
6:30pm - Jammies on.
6:40pm - Read bedtime stories/quiet time.
6:55pm - Milk.
7pm - Bed.

I am hoping that after he is used to this one nap a day thing he'll hopefully sleep longer and because he is now having supper I'm hoping that will help too. At the moment he is up at 5, so tomorrow morning he will wake at 5am and will have his cows milk then and then I'll try and keep him going off that till his scheduled breakfast, if he's too hungry will give it him around 7am x

Does that routine sound ok? I thought a nap at 12 would be good because if he (eventually) wakes up at 7am it will be right in the middle of the day.

this is VERY general, some days she doesnt get up til 9 or so! but usually...

6.30- get up, change nappy and come into bed with me to watch some peppa
7/7.30- go downstairs and have breakfast (porridge then toast)
10- snack time
12.30- lunch time then nap
(can be anything from an hour to 2.5 hours)
once she wakes we go for a walk and to the park
home, and snack time
dinner around 5.30

we fill our time with playing with toys, messing in the garden, painting, drawing, dancing!
