Thoughts on Mariah?

What are your honest thoughts & opinions on this name?

I love it, but can't get OH to agree... but wont give a reason why.

It reminds me too much of that arrogant oh-so-important singer, so a definite no from me. Sorry. At the end of the day though if you can both agree on it then it's totally your choice and you shouldn't worry what anybody else thinks x

..Have you thought about Mya?? it's similar sounding without the link to the singer (might annoy some people here but I love Mariah Carey : { ) Problem when it is a rare name that people will think you named baby after her, which is probably not the case!!!
I have chosen Mya if I have a daughter as it is an anagram of my name...Amy! x

I would like it if it didn't bring to mind Mariah Carey. I try not to make associations but that one is just to strong for me not to make. It is a beautiful name though.

Why not use Maria?

I think that's a real pretty name, and so does the rest of my family. But my cousin is called Maria so you got a lot of names "inspired" by that in my family like Mia, Mari and Marianne I wish she wasn't so I could call my LO that!
