As I'm sure most of you heard of octomom (if you haven't, it's probably best you don't find out.). I think it's interesting to see women who gave birth to multiple babies deal with fame. Some of it is good, but most of it is bad, as with the cases of Kate Gosselin and Jenny Masche (now McClendon).

pretty much all of the US families I've seen on tv have had negative publicity. you have to wonder about the ethics of the clinics in cases like octomom. in the uk fertility treatment is more regulated. I believe most women can only have a maximum of two embryos implanted (?possibly three over a certain age?). also things like pre-implantation sex selection are illegal here except in extremely unusual cases where a certain sex is being selected for medical reasons. thus we don't have so many of these wild number multiples.

we do have a famous family called the Waltons though in Liverpool. they have sextuplet girls who turn 30 this year. they never had a tv reality show but have done a few one off documentaries every few years or so. I think they have done a few ads for money but turned most things down for privacy (the occasional documentaries kept them on good terms with the media who had a huge interest in the family). the mum does a lot of voluntary work for the neonatal dept at the hospital where they were born. they always seem to come across as a normal family:

I feel bad for the kids cause they didn't ask for this!

Used to be people were famous for being something special (whether that was because they were great actors or singers or dancers)- but now, with all the reality TV, your considered special for being famous... no matter how that fame came about. Just odd to me.
