Natalia?

STILL stuck for both girls and boys names, getting desperate now!! I think Natalia is really nice, but not sure if it's too 'grown up' for a baby, if that makes sense? :dohh:

I like Natalia, but I don't like 'Nat', which is the inevitable nickname. :( Then again, other possible nms could be Talia, Lia, Tilly etc, which aren't so bad. :) If you'd like to chat about names I'd love to help you out!

My little sister is called Natalia! and we have never called her nat . always natzy! and mostly everyone calls her Talia, when she was a little girl my mum used to call her tattybogle ( a wizadora reverence) lol but what she hates is being called natalie! lol :) x

I love Natalia, it's on my list :) I think it's really pretty and feminine, and certainly appropriate for the time of year I'm due!

Natalia is a common name in Russia - it was popular in the early 70's. Its nicknames are Natasha and tash. Natasha is an AH sound not A. I like Talia though for a nickname:flower:

Natalia is a lovely name. It is quite grown up BUT we all have to remember that our children are only children for a short time - they have MANY MANY more years as grown ups.

There are lots of possible shortenings for Natalia - tally, talia, even tilly for when they are very young.

Good luck with the same hunt. We have agreed on girls names but cant agree on boys names for anything!

oo yeah i forget it was popular in russia! .. i only discovered this by watching james bond tho :P

I think Natalia is nice and I love the nm Talia x

Well I have only ever seen it spelt Natalya which I guess is more the Russian way. However looking in my baby names book it states Natalia, spelt like like that, is Italian. Don't know if that is right or not... but sounds nice name anyways :)

Not so keen on Natalia because of it being shortenend to Nat, I really like Talia though . xx

Thanks girls. It's one for our maybes list at least :)

i love the name Natalia,i have a friend called Natalia and her nickname is Talia lol

Just wondering, how are you all pronouncing it? Nat-al-ia or ~Nat-ah-lia?

I like Natalia but like Natalie, Nadia and Natasha a little more. Talia would be a cute nn for a little girl though. :)
