I went off the pill at the end of March started having regular peroids and have been charting and thought at the beginning of July I was fertile/ ovulating. Now I am on cd 37 and absolutely nothing but BFN's! I am anxiously awaiting AF so we can try again. I am curious could it be that my body hasn't regulated since being off the pill? Could it be because I am exercising (I have lost 25lbs in six weeks)? Could it be that we switched to aoy milk (heard it has estrogen)? Could that I am now taking a prenatal vitamin (just over 10 days)? Ugh! Just curious to see what your thoughts are or is this all normal?

What is your usual cycle length?
Do you know how many days past ovulation you are?

Here is my favourite article for the day -
I have been posting it all over B&B like a POAS lunatic

The weight loss *could* effect your body's usual ovulation pattern.
However I am not a dietician and do not know if your rate of weight loss (5lb per week) is regarded as excessive or normal :)

Did you change your diet a lot during this time?
Or was the weight loss mainly from increase in exercise?

I'm just off BCP so I'm no expert in that regard but I do know that when I used to run a lot I had very few AFs. Not sure about the other stuff. Really hoping my cycles get back to normal quickly but looking on here that doesn't seem to happen to a lot of people!

My sister conceived very easily at 35yo straight after having been on BCP for many years.
But it took me 6 - 8 months to cycle normally again.

I wish there was one status quo for everybody, it would make it lots easier!
Back to normal cycles straight after ceasing BCP of course! :flower:

I am always able to expwct AF at 25-26 days and I know it, and still nothing all clear... What isPOAS?

I know! It's so frustrating not knowing!

I changed my entire eating habits (all for the better) and increased my exercise (2x a day, running and biking). I have been losing a good 4.5lbs each week and its now slowing down.

The weight loss absolutely will effect your cycle. And with a combination of stopping the BC not too long ago... your body is out of whack right now. Also every now and again every woman gets a wonky AF anyways... I think all these factor in if you are that far past still getting a BFN. For me I ovulate cd 18-22 so I dont expect AF until cd 34-37. Thats my normal. Typically at this point in your cycle a BFP should be showing up by now... however that being said, there are those odd cases where it doesnt show up for months down the road?! If nothign happens in the next few days I would be calling the dr :hugs:

Thanks :) its hard because there are so many factors that play a role. I wonder how much linger over I should wait to see AF. I at first thought I was pg but then tested negative and thought for sure my cycle was beginning. I guess I will see how the weekend goes and from there.

Meg, it may be the weight loss...at least part of it. I am an exercise physiologist and 1-2pounds a week is considered a good weight loss. Congrats to you for adopting a healthier lifestyle but 4.5 pounds a week may be a little hard on your body...

That was more so at the beginning but it was a great deal of work and dedication. I still have about 30 I could lose but its more so now about 2-3 a week. I wanted to be more fit before conceiving. I should focus on one or the other (weight loss or conceiving) but it is what actually motivated me to make a change and we are so ready for our family to begin.

POAS = pee on a stick.

Up until 2 days ago I was a chronic POAS addict, but also I'd :hissy::cry:
every time I'd receive a :bfn:
So no more testing for me until a day after AF is due.

I have a similar cycle length to you 25-26 days. This cycle I estimate I ovulated around day 10 - 11, so right now I am on 12 dpo, on day 22 of my cycle.
I hope I am pg

I'm trying to get familiar with all these abbreviations too. I just ordered a bulk bag of ov and pg tests today so I'm gonna have to be careful I don't fall into the POAS addiction, could totally see it happening though! Hope you are pg:)

I guess I need to join the POAS club :happydance: I cant help it. I think we went through so many, but because these last few weeks I really thought I was pg I bought expensive ones and still nothing. I have a feeling that this can become a terrible addiction.

Good luck to you. Keep us posted!

How fun! I love when I have a full stock of them. Thats part of my anxiousness because I just bought a new package of OV tests and I want to jump back into bed with my hubby :sex: but still no AF :af: here. Ugh...

Warning: once you're in the POAS Addicts Club, you can never really leave.

Oh my, I cant tell you how many First Response and Confirm POAS I have gone through this 2ww, some as early as 5 or 6dpo :loopy:

I even did one this morning after I was not supposed to

My usual POAS pattern goes something like this:

Euphoria at spotting a positive 2ww pg symptom :wohoo:
A manic compulsion to :test:
Staring at the results window in a trance until I finally concede :bfn:
:sad2: followed closely by :growlmad:
and some more

Log onto B&B (because who else will understand)
Speak to the Ladies and get revved up again :ninja:
Admit my belief in the power of :dust:
Feel :D again
(after all the :witch: is still not here)
The voices start to chant
:happydance: :test: :test: :happydance:

and so the POAS cycle continues
:flower:

I am dying! How funny, I think must have stumbled onto this site for a reason then ;) to be with fellow POAS-ers!

Sounds like it's a good job I got Internet cheapies in bulk! I'll wait til they show something and then I'll buy a more expensive one...or three!
