time on breast

How long do your LO stay on the breast on average? Mine takes about 45 minutes in total for both boobs. Is this normal?

Babies vary a lot Theo can go anything from ten minutes to an hour on the breast

Thomas has always been a long slow feeder! 45 mins would be about the shortest he takes; generally 1 hour+!

There seems to be a whole range of normal (as with most things pregnancy & baby related!!)

Maddie can stay on up to 45 minutes with a nipple shield and up to 20 minutes straight on the breast. Sometimes as little as 10 minutes.

Samuel can go anything from 20mins to 45mins for both - then on the odd occasion he will only have the one!! Think it partially depends on hunger, sleepiness and amount of milk spurting out!!

Ronan is usually around 10-15 mins per boob but can easily go much longer if he's in the mood. Yesterday during the start of his 6 week growth spurt he spent a record 7 hrs feeding until he passed out from exhaustion around 9pm for a couple hours.

Devin seems to stay on anywhere between 40 minutes, and an hour. Usually close to 30 minutes on the first breast, then I switch him.
