Hi all

to me my bump looks big because before i was pregnant i was tiny tiny weighing only 95lb!

when ever im out and people ask me how far gone i am they always act really shocked and say how tiny my bump is for how far gone i am which i know it is as other peoples bumps who are same weeks as me are much bigger.

I also have been messuring small by 2 weeks and 2 and 1/2 weeks at my past 2 fundal heights.

does this mean im going to have a little baby? do you think we should get some "tiny baby' clothes incase?

im also expected not to reach my due date.

heres a picture i just took at 33 weeks and 2 days

your post describes my situation down to a tee..... so i look forward to see what everyone says!! i was 8 stone before pregnancy and tall, have been told i will go any day now and baby is measuring about 2 weeks behind.....

Nooo don't worry. You don't look that small in your pic. I measure smaller too, it's nothing to worry about. It means you've got good tummy muscles. Our daughter was 7lb 10 and I was small with her too. Xx

My bump was a similar size to yours, I am an average 5'6 9 1/2 stone pre pregnancy and had a big baby first time round but measured small, Ive had 2 growth scans and they have guessed my baby is gonna be small (she was about 5lb at 37weeks) so I have a couple of tiny baby things but mostly newborn as Im not sure if I will go over and she might be bigger?? x

Yours is so much bigger than mine and you are only a week ahead I think!

The MW doesn't always measure right and it depends on bubz positioning IYKWIM? My baby shrank apparently, it must be all the fluid lol!

Fri 27th Aug - 27cm
Wed 1st Sept - 30cm
Fri 3rd Sept - 32cm
Fri 10th Sept - 28cm!

I was very skinny pre-bump. Everyone is shocked when I tell them how far along I am, my doctor even said that he's seen women 24 weeks bigger than me lol!xx

I was always at least 2 weeks behind bump wise but my babies were 6lb 15oz and 7lb 6oz both 38 weekers :)

Your bump doesnt look too small dont worry :hugs: x

It is hard to tell from your pics- but to me your bump looks HUGE!

I measured behind throughout my pregnancy and folk were forever telling me how small my bump was. I was very petite like you before pregnancy.

Here is my 33 wks pic for comparison. Anna was 6 lb 14 oz at birth.:flower:

I'm 2 weeks ahead of you and my bump is quite a bit smaller, so I wouldnt worry too much. Fundal height isn't really that accurate a measurement.

I'm 30 weeks and much much smaller hun. I've had a couple of growth scans as I'm always at least 4weeks behind on fundal height but they've told me it's still too early to tell baby's birthweight. Anything from 6lb upwards they guessed though.

My sister was smaller than you and her two came out at 7lb8 and 7lb10 xx

i was measuring 29cm at 32 weeks and went for a growth scan at 34 weeks - baby at that point weighed 6.5lbs!! gutted because we have bought tons of newborn clothes and if his estimated weight is anything to go by then he'll be straight into 0-3. so not sure fundal height has anything to do with the size of a baby - also the size of your bump can be affected by things like the strength of your abdominal muscles, so i wouldn't worry about having a small baby. xx

You don't look small to me at all. I'm 35 weeks on Tuesday and I'm a bigger frame to start off with (5 foot 9in) but my bump's probably the same size as yours and I'm spot on with my fundal height. Fundal height is not very accurate but people say strange things to you - I've had the 'ooh you're very neat, thought you were due next year!' and 'ooh you've got how long left, you look like it's due'! Everyone has an opinion!

i never get any " o0o0oh your big " comments

and the lady at the till in asda goes to me

"wow you not put on any weight, are you going to be one of these skinny mums"

You have a lovely and neat bump :)

My fundal height was always below average (by 2-3cm) but it caught up when I was around 36 weeks. However, my LO was perfectly average in size at my 30 week growth scan, so it doesn't necessarily mean your bubs is small xx

thanks - i think hormones are just crazy at the mo :(

Your bump is fine. Mine was pretty small, although fundal height was always round about where it should have been My midwife said a small bump can be due to good tummy muscles, it just holds everything in better and a tighter! Madeline was 5 days late and weighed 6lb 12oz. She was also very long - 54cms, which is on the 98th centile for length!

Here is my 33 week bump for comparison (it's hard to believe that this yellow bump is now a 13-week old, gorgeous little girl! The time goes sooooo quick!)

I think you look about as big as I was when I went into labor. I measured 5 weeks behind and he was a small baby.

thanks girlies - i wont rush out and buy tiny baby clothes then :)

I don't think your bump is small. Fundal heights don't mean much. Mine has always measured spot on, but in my growth scans my LO is measuring ahead by 2 weeks.
