Ok, ladies-- this is about as personal as it gets, but I just have to know!

Since getting pregnant, grooming "down there" has been annoying to say the least. I'm fine until the hair starts growing back and then it itches like crazy! And, of course, my hair seems to grow extra fast now so it's constantly an issue.

Anyone else have this? Any ideas on how to deal with it?

Im the same :/. I think im going tp try and have it waxed. Maybe a good idea when I cant see what im doing tidy haha. X

I normally remove all hair down there by sugaring. It hurts and makes me get hot and clammy so since I found out I am pregnant I have not had it done. I normally go 4 weekly. I am trimming it very short with small clippers to keep it neat. I no longer have a partner so am not so worried about having hair but normally I don't like to have any.

I wonder if I let it grow a bit past the stubbly phase if it wouldn't itch as much. But it's just so irritating!! Grrr...

I actually use a mirror to help me see what I'm doing. Like you, it grows super fast so I usually do my grooming about twice a week.

I don't shave super short so I skip that stubbly itchy phase. I just use hair buzzers to keep things from getting out of control. It is so much quicker and easier than shaving!

I don't shave it right down anymore , as the other lairs have said just trim it .

As you get further it will be more an more or a pain to do anyways so you might not even bother .

With my son by about 30 weeks I couldn't reach down there well enough to shave even if I tried so I just left it

Thanks for all the responses, ladies! I think I'll let it grow a bit to see if I can get beyond the itching.

Fun times, being pregnant!

I'm on pelvic rest anyway. So I don't bother. I just trim it now.
Because on top if every other pregnancy problem an itchy hooha from regrowth isn't on my list of things to do today. Lol

If it itches you...it could be that you are allergic to the type of razor...I'm not sure if you ever though of that but I thought I would atleast throw that out there. Personally..I can't use Bic razors. I'm allergic to Nickel and they use nickel in their razors...and also Bic razors give off tiny shards of metal and inbed in your skin that cause itching.

So maybe try a different brand and see if that helps =)

Hahahhahahaha lmao

That is hilarious , love it

Mrs. Mcguin-- I had never even thought of that! I am using a new brand of razor (have to look to see what it is-- it's a disposable whatever it is). I'll try switching to see if that helps. Thanks!!

What about using Veet?? I'm contemplating using it as its like a jungle lol.. Anyone ever veeted the whole area?? Xx

Yes!! DON'T DO IT!!

Omg it was horrible, it was like some kind of chemical burn it hurt sooooo bad..

I followed the instructions and because we are so warm and sweatty down there it doesnt mix well and washing it off is a nightmare..

I may have just had an allergic reaction, and it may be fine for you.. But with my experience I would say noooooo lol

I shave my whole area, so there is NO hair at all! its definitly getting harder and harder to do without not being able to actually SEE what i am doing. Haha

not sure what i'll do in the next few months. OY

I'm so glad you started this thread! I've been having the same concerns. It also worries me a bit about labour. Now I know there's a lot of other things about labour to worry about but what's the etiquette down there? Especially as nurses/midwives will be looking there a lot! What's everyone's plans?

For labor, I'll probably just have it how I normally do: clean up the edges (if I can still manage that) and trim the rest short.

I'm a first timer, so I don't know a lot about it, but I heard that they used to shave you clean down there before delivery because they were worried about germs. I guess now they douse you with sanitizer or something. Anyone know?

Iol. I use to think that too!!
And I went early with my DD so I didn't have time to tidy up down there.
Wanna know what they do? They leave it alone. They don't touch you unless they are checking for dialation or baby is coming out. And they don't care what it looks like down there.

As for germs, if they are worried about anything like if you have grp B strep you get an antibiotic drip otherwise its clean and sanitary enough as it is.
