I started to miscarry yesterday 4w6d and started with a light bright red flow with lots of mucus. Last night I had the worst cramping and started to pass clots - now please if squeamish don't read on, I had a clot dangling from me which I had to pull and I felt it in my uterus and a glob with stringy tissue came away. My uterus was contracting like mad, I am assuming this was the "product of conception" the doctors talked about. I am now flowing quite heavily with heaps of clots. IS this normal? Should I see the doctor or is this what an early miscarriage is like. My last was at 12w1d so very different and in hospital.

Help me please

I lost Ava at 18 and half weeks but I gave birth. I am thinking though yes that was/is the "product Of Conception":cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: It is normal to bleed heavily with clots I did also, but please call your doctor and maybe see what he says. Make sure you are safe and not in any danger. I am so deeply sorry this is happening. I am thinking of you :cry::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

MissC, it is normal, but if you are filling more than a large pad an hour, it's too much. Sometimes it'll be super heavy for a bit then level off to a normal period type situation. If you continue with super heavy flow tho, it's better to go to ED. I even passed some clots a week later. It is heavier than mine was, bit I did have bad contractions. After I had to take a med, methergin, that makes the uterus contract to flush out the rest and help uterus return to normal. Hope you're doing ok, hun, take care of yourself, hugs!

Sorry that you have to go through this. I started spotting at 4w4d and it started with pink mucus then bright red with very small clots. My bleeding got heavier with mild to severe cramping. I did got to the Dr the next day and stated that my cervix was still closed. I dont know if that mean anything. He also did blood work to check my levels. But I am hoping you the best for you and that all goes well and your little bean is ok.:cry::cry:

thanks everyone, well things have calmed down a little but it is still pretty painful, still lots and lots of clots but I guess that is to be expected. My groin is actually painful now. I soak a pad but that's cos it comes out in gushes. Nothing for a couple of hours and then whoosh. It's just awful. Such a cruel thing for any woman to go through. How some of you do it again and again I have no idea. Right now I feel done. I don't think I could cope with a third loss, I don't think I am strong enough.

Oh dear...I'm so sorry for your losses. I agree, it is so cruel and hard to wrap your head around. :(

Please go to the hospital just to make sure you're not losing too much blood. what's happening is your uterus is shedding everything by bleeding...and the blood is pooling inside your uterus and clotting. then the clot comes out when there's a push, or you stand or something. It may be a little deceiving how much you're actually bleeding...because clots come out in chunks rather than just streaming blood...but it still indicates you're bleeding quite a bit.

I hemorrhaged badly with my miscarriage at almost 11 weeks, and I needed IV fluids and an emergency D&C. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I am so sorry for you losses :( Sending big :hugs: your way!

missC so so sorry for your loss and so sad to see you here again. I had a mmc back in june this year baby was only measuring 5+4 when I was supposed to be 11+weeks. Anyhow what you are describing is what happened to me, I really would go and seek medical advice, the reason for the gushes was because a part of the sac was caught in my cervix and my body was trying to expel it with the blood. The docs removed it and it stopped. Feel for you hun, sending hugs. x x x
