hiya i am trying to make up my mind on when to go to my doctors...i really really dont want to go back to the southern general so dont know if i can just go to another hospital in glasgow or not (any info on this would be wonderful) also i am thinking i want to give it a good few weeks before going to doctors, but mum thinks i should go just now any ideas/opinions??? bxox
I think its your right to decide on your hospital - I certainly would demand it if thats how I felt! Your doctors hun ... YES get the pregnancy confirmed ASAP for many reasons x
You can choose what hospital you go to, Robs sister got to choose between the Southern General and the Royal Infirmary
You should be able to choose which hospital you want to go to so don't let them try to bully you. But I would definately go to the docs. I have been but only for them to check my blood HCG levels and confirm the pregnancy. My thinking is that hopefully things will be ok and I can get the support from them that I need to ease my concerns but if things go wrong I have the amunition I need to get refered for tests. I haven't made an appointment with the Midwife yet until I feel comfortable. Good Luck Charm X
thanks ladies....i know deep down i should go, but i was thinking i would maybe hold off a week or two so i dont get poked and prodded too much, it will only get me more worked up...i will phone drs tomorrow and say i just want to get preg confirmed...they can forget anything else til later on or i will only go to epu in a differnt hosp...not sgh again...
Ooh Good Luck BB, I know they don't do much yet but at least you'll have the care ready and waiting for the next 8 months or so Charm X
ok so the dizzy mare is back and getting herself into a tizzy already. the doctor will ask me tomorrow what hospital i want to go to. i am right next to the southern general (place i had my mc) and the scanning people there were just hideous with me...the midwifes and ward folk were lovely but epu not good at all. yorkhill is over the other side of river (next to my work) so this would be handy for appointments and i can get to it ok. my issue is that the midwifes that come to the health centre for my regular appointments will be from the southern.....dont know what to do, whether i should bit the bullet and go with my local (but sometimes nasty, and have heard some bad things) hospital, or the one at the other side of river which is handy for work but might not get to know my midwife before birth.... just looking for opinions really.... god i need a smoke!!!!
Ohh it's a hard one babe........once you get a midwife at the local hospital, would you always have the same one for sure? We don't here it is whoever is about that you get to see, but where I used to live, my MW was ace and she was my main one! I would really go to whatever one you feel comfortable with babe, you have to go there, so YOU really have to know you will feel comfortable there...........I think it is sad not to know your MW, but it is all so common now too, so I think I would maybe take that chance and go across the river to a whole new situation for yourself hun. Hope that made sense?! xx
If you'd feel happier going to the one near your works then do so. Do what ever makes your Pregnancy less stressful. Charm X
thanks ladies,i am getting quite emotional about it cause i think im going to have a fight to get to the other one tomorrow....bugger them, i am up for the fight....i should be able to go where i want, not where suits them....my sister in law had the same mw all the way through her appointments then she wasnt on the night of her labour so its a gamble i am going to take.... going to ask for yorkhill/queen mums....going to try and go to bed and read, i am getting quite teary again....but made it to week 4...onyl 3 more to go...
I agree with Charm BB! Good on you get that foot firmly down & make sure your happy because thats what matter! Chin up hun you will make it your doing great x
