I have a few days coming up where I substitute as a gym teacher.

One of the reasons my 6th graders love to have me is because I always play kickball/basketball with them. (Yes, I shamelessly act like a 10 year old!)

Im debating on continuing to play... or sitting out. Today I still played kickball with them, but covered my stomach during the hits and didnt run/do the bases. I basically played outfeild the whole time.

Do you think this is okay? Or too risky?

Sure, I don't see why not, I exercised regularly through my last two pregnancies and plan to with this one, including doing HIIT.

I don't see any harm. I'm a long distance runner and am still running. I also like to play soccer with my 12 year old often. Pregnancy hasn't stopped me.

The advice here is to stop contact sports. Personally if it was me, I would probably stop because it only takes one mishap with a heavy ball launched into your stomach to potentially hurt the baby. I would try to stay involved in other ways instead, but it's obviously your choice and I'm sure you're more than capable of making a good judgement
