All my classmates started their final year without me :(. Nathan is 12 weeks old and refuses to drink from anything except the boob.
Breastfeeding has been easy from day one for us so I didnt want to jinx it by introducing a bottle too early so I waited the suggested six weeks and he won't even entertain the idea :)
I maybe haven't tried as hard as I could have but I was not prepared to let him go hungry or get upset.
My lecturer is very supportive and he is talking to the uni to see if I can do distance learning until he can be left.

Poiness post really- but I love breastfeeding and don't regret a thing :)

You are doing an amazing, selfless thing for your LO - and I'm sure your lecturer will be able to help and you can study from home etc.

My LO wouldn't take bottles either so I know how hard it is to leave him :hugs:

Hi Hun, :hugs: I know your pain! I ended up getting Jennifer a doidy cup! And she drink out of that. It can be a bit of hard work tho. I'll keep trying the bottles in the hope she'll take to them, but in the meantime we get half the milk into her by cup! :Haha: xxx

Did you try Medela bottle? It's supposed to be very similar to the way our boobs work

Also, I cannot feed my LO with the bottle, I think she can smell my milk! But my husband can. Did you try getting somebody else to feed her?

Yeah my oh and my mum both tried. I even left the house ( just down the road). I tried them and tt, avent, mam, cheap asda ones, nothing! I may try a doidy cup thanks :)

I think he may be one of those babies that likes to be close to the boob :)

Have you tried Nuby? They are shaped and textured like a nipple :)

I second lettuce's suggestion of a doidy cup. Babies don't need to drink out of bottles once they're 3/4 months old. Can't hurt to try! And if you can get LO drinking from a cup, you don't ever have to teach him how to drink out of anything else, ever :)

Have you tried taking your LO elsewhere and getting someone else to try outside of your house? Just a thought, your LO might relate the smells and sounds of your house to BF also! I agree though, breatfeeding is a very selfless thing, especially when you have a LO who won't take a bottle (mine won't either). Well done you xx
