My 18 month old has been allergic to dairy since birth. That's been fine, we've had alternatives, and neocate formula. However since she has become allergic to soy, strawberries, kiwifruit, tomato and her tummy is sensitive to gluten as well. Since a big reaction to soy the other day she has been reacting to everything.
Not sure where to go from here, as there's not much i can feed her, being in NZ i don't know if there are more options out there for food if there are allergies, but i do know the options are limited here. And not sure if there are other allergies we have yet to discover.
Wondering if there are any mummies in the same boat?
Another issue is its so darn expensive, and sharing recipies could be a big help also.

My son has a dairy allergy also, I'm in the uk and have found alternatives, his still breastfeeding though. He is not good with food either.

What sort of symptoms does your LO get to those foods after eating them?

Whole body rash, windy noisy upset tummy, constipation, generally unwell. And when she was having those foods in her main diet i.e formula wise etc she wasn't growing.
She has been to a dietician but they have not given us a follow up appointment. We have just been seen by our GP since

Aww are those delayed reactions?

My son has a pretty bad allergy, it's cows milk protein allergy. He gets a reaction even if it just touches his skin so he doesn't even have to digest it to trigger it.

He gets swelling and red rashes all over sometimes coughing, vomiting and becoming floppy and pale.

His not good with food at all so that plus the allergy hasn't helped his weight at all. We use coconut milk for cooking if needed and I did try soya yogurts but I don't really bother with buying them (I know that's not an option for you).

What does she eat during the day?

Her reaction will happen about 20 mins after consuming. Not as bad as your son however, she has to actually consume the product.
I was using soy yogurts, small amounts, and had not noticed it wasnt agreeing with her until i gave her enough to cause a reaction.
All those sleepless nights we've had for the last 18 months, clearly have been the cause of an upset tummy as since ive stopped all of the products with soy in them. She has slept all night!! My goodness..

In the day, she eats a lot of fruit, so apples, bananas, bit of rice cereal, sandwich for lunch (gluten dairy free bread which i home make) crackers or chips (there are a couple allergy free options) And dinner, has to be quite strict so no bologneses or pasta bakes etc containing tomato. It is hard. And i haven't yet managed to nail a few staples for her diet to ensure she is getting all she needs. But she is still drinking formula, and i use that in a couple recipes as prescribed from our doctor to ensure she is getting what she needs.

What formula does your son have, or is he breastfed?

Sorry just remembered you said, breastfed, that's great.!

Maybe you should just go to simple eating till her system clears up and then slowly introduce other foods to see how she reacts.
Simple eating ..........just fresh fruits and veggies and meat. And the bread that you make for her. Then slowly add other stuff to see how she reacts.
Perhaps when she is old enough if she isn't already you should get an allergy test done so you know what will affect her.

Sorry just remembered you said, breastfed, that's great.!

Yep but we were given a special formula for him, Aptimal Pepti when he was 6 months to mix in with cereal. We still get it on prescription but don't use it any longer x
