Too popular?

Is Abigail too popular now? I have always liked that name, even before it became popular. Plus, my mom's name is Gail, and I'd like my LO to have that connection, plus I love Abby as a nickname.

Not sure where you're located, but from 2001 - 2010, it's been 8th most popular or better in the States. However, I don't know anyone with that name at the present time, nor do I know anyone picking it right now. So, I'd have to say it's not as popular this year (which hasn't been tallied yet).

Hey! I live in Massachusetts! We are very close by.

I just don't want future LO to have 4 Abigails in her class. Being a top 10 name I think this could be a valid concern.

In UK it's not that common at all. I like it, I especially like it shortened to Abi/Abby!

I voted yea I know many Abigails and I know many Abigail bumps however it really is a beautiful name I too have always LOVED it! If it bothers you though I believe you could look up the most popular names in whatever state you live in and get the social security list I looked at washingtons!!

I personally dont know anyone with the name Abigail, so I voted no.

I went to school (when I was 6) and there was 1 girl called Abigail, but im in the UK, so not sure about US.
