too similar?

One of our favourite names for LO is Seth, but I'm thinking it might sound weird because my name is Beth? I can just imagine going to mother and baby groups and saying 'Hi I'm Beth and this is Seth' and sounding ridiculous! Or am I just overthinking it?

lol i have that same problem, me and OH like the name Harry but OH's name is Gary lol

We have decided to go with naming him Harrison so that we can still call him Harry occasionally for short but he will be introduced as Harrison

When you say Gary and Harry together I think it sounds fine so maybe I'm just being silly! Love the name Harrison

hmm. id say definitely a problem with 2 LOs called seth and beth.. but when its your name... i dont think its so bad. i get what you mean if you're introducing yourself and your lo but i dont think it would have too much of an impact and if you really love the name you should just use it xxxx

My friend's name is Mary Beth & was planning to name her son Seth but everyone commented on the whole rhyming thing so she named him something else....

My SIL is named Deanna & just named her daughter Gianna....

I think it's common for names to rhyme or sound alike & no one will really take much notice...

Like someone else said, i think it would sound silly to name your kids "Beth & Seth" but not so obvious for mom & son.... iykwim

i dont think its that bad! I know a woman called Nikki with a son called Mickey and nobody has ever said anything about that. Seth is a lovely name, dont be put off just because of the rhyming hun x

Lol, it could be too similar. I have Olivia and wanted Oliver but opted out and ended up with Seth. I love the name but think with Beth it might be best to go with another name, how about Oliver? lol

Go with Seth - it's a lovely name - if we ever have a boy we'll be calling him Seth.
