Do you have toys in your toddlers bedroom? Was thinking of moving some into connahs room but I'm not sure it would be a good idea. I'm thinking of getting him a bookcase for in there and then he can read his books but Im wondering if toys would distract him at bedtime

We have toys in our lo's room, and a book case too.
We do keep the toys in a lidded box, which Lo can't take off yet, bit we don't have any problems with him being distracted at bedtime. He usually goes and reads a book whilst we put away stuff from getting ready for bed, then comes over when we tell him bedtime..my Lo is only 14 months though, so not sure what'll happen when he gets bigger!

As of Sunday, Katie now has toys in her room :)

Amelie has books, a tv and a toybox and its never caused issues at bedtime :)

Matthew has toys in his bedroom he doesn't play with them at bedtime just picks a teddy and cuddles it :)

Jacob has toys in his room. He doesn't get them out at night time!

My 2 yrs old has toys in his bedroom too, although he has never played with them as he spends most of his playing time downstairs in the lounge!!

Although they're in his room, all he wants at bed time is his teddy..... It is dark in his room too, so he can't see where the toys are!

Dec has a tv, toys and books in his room and we haven't had any problems. He also has a massive bookshelve on the landing outside his room door and he will sometimes get out of bed go to that and get a book if he wants.

We have always had toys in DS's room - he's never got up at night to play with them but he has played with them in the evening before going to bed - never for long though. WE put them in there for him to play with in the mornings.
DD just has some books in her rooms - plus the soft toys - she is still in her cot so we can't really put toys in the cot for her.

Thanks everyone,iv put a toybox in there with all his books and some toys and hopefully it will encourage him to not come and wake us up at 5am as he has been :/ were also struggling to find room downstairs for all the toys! Xx

jake has had toys in his bedroom from day one (sort of!) so im hoping it wont affect him when he's in a normal bed.

I moved K's toys into his bedroom when he no longer played with them or we simpy didnt have the room in the living room. Causes no problems at bed times, he very rarely gets out and is normally asleep within 10 mins

In the mornings if we have a lie in he brings his cars and mega blocks into bed with me lol :dohh:

Only a couple of books as she reads them to her teddy before she falls asleep. No toys are allowed. We used to have a couple of soft toys but we removed those now because she would want to put them all to sleep, one by one, cover each with a blanket, which took ages, so only her teddy and a doll are allowed.
