That is so sad! It makes me even more thankful for the wonderful care my daughter received when she had a fever at 10 days old. They did a full panel workup and when she came back with an abnormal spinal fluid result they started her on IV antibiotics right away. When they brought us to her room, they showed me a button I could push if I thought at any moment that her treatment wasn't proper or she was having serious issues and a seperate STAT team would assemble and do a thorough workup to make sure she had the care she needed. It makes me so mad to hear that sort of incompetence! My heart goes out to the family.
