Tranfer from Cot to Bed?

Hiya,

Just curious. At what age did you all transfer you bubbas from a cot to a bed?
We have a small car bed for Thomas to go in that already has built in sides and is practically floor level. He is now nearly 15 months old.

I 'think' my daughters were around 2 and 1. (when Izzie was two she went into a bed and we did Ella one at the same time). I cant really remember a specific age though.


Hes not tried to climb out the cot yet but i know it wont be long. And thats what scares me. There's nothing in his room that could harm him so if he were to climb out of his bed it wouldnt be a problem. Just the falling out his cot that worries me

18 months. We bought the new bed and bed guardand put it in his room with the cot beside it and one night he just told me no and he wanted in the big bed and that was that lol

We literally transferred Frankie from his Cot to his toddler bed last night, we have just done his room up all in Toy story and he slept really well in his toddler bed and fell to sleep straight away he loved that it has woody and buzz on his bed i think he felt 'safe' with having them on his bed as he is obsessed with them lol. Frankie is 2 in May and i would say his age is perfect to transfer if they are ready.

We moved our son at 12/13 months as he climbed out and I deemed it unsafe to keep him in the cot.
We moved our daughter at 34 months. She combed out once several months before that but never tried it again so we left her. We only moved her out because we'd had a student in her room so rather than putting the cot back up we put her bed up instead.
Both took to the bed fine.
