Transverse - How can I tell?

Today baby was moving a lot and I then had a sudden pain in my rib area. I assumed the baby was wedged in.

Well now my bump looks odd, it's hard on both sides whereas before it was squishy on the sides and hard down the middle.

I'm wondering if the baby has turned and got stuck.
I have midwife Thursday so I will ask her but I am curious now

It's possible you're transverse now. My DD was transverse til around 32 weeks, flipped heads down, then at 36 weeks when transverse again! At that point it hurt so bad for her to be like that I put a pack of cold peas on my belly where her head was and she flipped straight back down!!!
