I get a mixed feel on these so thought I'd ask you girls for the pros & cons of a travel system maybe certain makes to advise against etc?

:D x

I had a mothercare travel system with Kai and it was a god send! It was quite bulky though but fit in our 206 it was ideal for bein in the car. At the min there are travel systems avaliable which fold down small an compact, Im goin for the loola which looks fab and its quite small when folded down!

this is the one!

Think you may find I'm a copy cat LOL!!

i never got a travel system as personally i wouldnt like sitting in a car seat for hours on end! i dont feel the baby looks very comfy in it! but teh link sophie posted has a carriage cot now tht i likes alot!!!! i had a mamas and papas pram and i was happy knowing that chloe/callum were lying comfortably rather than squished in a car seat, teh mamas and papas was a bit bulky and hard to push but it never had swivel wheels(godsend to mums!!!!) but tht 1 sophie posted does lol, wen chloe/callum were too big for the pram i just got a buggy tht was able to lay flat :D

Best bit of advice I can give is to sign up to the Which site (which you can do for free for 30 days) and check out the safety reports on the car seats.

I had Graco Quattro Travel System good and bad.

Good it included a car seat, bad it is way too heavy and bulky! I sold ours when madam was 6 months old to get a lighter stroller.

I beleive babies should be laid down flat!xx

Actually the loola is starting to worry me ....

It has no hood on the pram .... I see on the accessories it has a car seat rain cover but no pushchair cover either not sure an umberella is good enough ...

The seat cover I think I hate the look of:

when me and my mum went looking at buggies when i was a couple of months i saw the chicco one is quite bulky bigger than a mamas and papas pliko the mamas and papas pliko pramettes and pliko pushchairs are good as the fold up not too small but not too bulky they have brought a new one out mamas and papas luna but personally i wouldnt put a baby in this from birth

this is the pramette and i think its value for money as by the time you buy a pram then after baby has outgrown it you will want a pushchair

https://www.babyandbump.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=23&stc=1&d=1180373639Pramette turns into forward facing
https://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/database_images/products//18/188489200.jpg Pliko with navetta carrycot use as a pram then into pushchair

https://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/database_images/products//10/102189900.jpg luna lovely buggy fold really small apparantly fit in a boot of a mini lovely and light but personally not for a newborn.

The pramette are expnesive but rmeber to look around first and go to your local pram shop to have a demonstration on how it works and what it looks like when folded

spunky xx

well I have a Bugaboo and love it. It has a sprung base carry cot and is so comfy for baby. I hate travel systems with a passion as I think they are so bad for babies backs really not good at all.

My next one which I am getting within couple of months is a Silvercross POD (I think its called) I like the look of as seat is padded for extra comfort.

Isnt it the carseats on the travel systems that are bad for their backs though? Mine has a carrycot with it..

I'd imagine alot of stuff were just assumtions (sp) if they really were teh worst thing ever on baby then I'd imagine most would back out of these models esspecially the bigger more reliable known companies & the prices would stay rather low.

Can't stick baby in a carrycot in a car afterall.
