Traveling to England & Scotland any recommendations?

So my OH and I will be going to Europe on our honeymoon in a few weeks and since I see a lot of you are from the UK I was wondering if you have any recommendations.

We will be in London for a few days then taking the train up through York, maybe Newcastle, then Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow for sure. Any other suggestions on that route of places that could be interesting? Or any good pubs along the way?
