hey everyone!!

Im Jen (24), my fiance(25) and i have been planing on having a baby for the past year and we have finally felt ready to take the plunge and i have recently come off the pill. We would like to keep this private from our family and friends untill i become pregnant, they will all be over the moon of course. I will be the 1st of all my friends to get pregnant and it will be the 1st pregnancy amongst both our siblings so i have no one to relate to or ask questions to as no one i know has the experience but i am still happy and excited and nothing has ever felt so right!

here are my stats
- came off the pill on 22nd aug (cilest and finished full packet)
- has withdrawl bleed 25th-29th aug
- was supposed to start next pack 29th aug but didnt

so im supposed to have a period roughly around 22nd sept and acording to an online ovulation calculator im due to ovulate between 5th-10th sept

before i started the pill (7 years ago) my periods were very regular.

for the past week discharge has been clear/stretchy/runny sorry tmi lol and i have also been having slight period like cramps on and off with no bleeding is this normal? is this ovulation? or typical symptoms from coming off the pill?

ive also started taking pre natel vitamins and doing all the right things health related ive also been sexually active everyday for the past week

any advise or info would be great
thanks guys

Hi Im Donna, TTC baby number 2...have you considered using OPK's(Ovulation predictor kits) to see when You ovulate?you can get them cheaply online,i brought a pack of 50 from amazon for about £7 something.xx

Hi I'm Jill.

I came off Cilest to TTC our first child at the begining of the year after 15yrs. Other than increased Ovulation pain and PMS and a few dodgy mths I have settled in to a 30 day cycle and I am ovulating.

I have bought 50 of the OPK's off ebay for £6 and also a Persona Monitor for £15, it's about finding what works for you.

Good Luck xx

Hi jenb! You and I are in very similar situations! Like you, my husband and I are trying to conceive our first child, and I'm also on cycle one after nearly 8 years on Microgynon 30.
I had my last withdrawal bleed 22nd-27th August, so our cycles are close too.

Do you fancy being TTC buddies, and sharing our journey?

Hi,

Same situation here too. Me and DH have been TTC for 6 months and (hopefully) will be the first one to have a child out of siblings. Also keeping it quite from friends and family as don't want to much pressure put on us!

I would definatly recommend getting some OPKs so you can get a really good idea of when you O.

How exciting x x

aww thanks guys i will deffo be checking out those opk's but for some reason i cant help but get my hopes up that im gonna get caught first time which i know may be very unlikley after reading tons of other posts but im so impatient tho i cant help it lol i didnt expect for there to be so much to do and think about when ttc especially when you hear of people getting pregnant after a random 1 night stand lol

sounds good tattoo our cycles are almost exact - are you having any symptoms from coming off the pill?

Hi Jen

Your the same age as me and running a very similar cycle date (withdrawal bleed started 26th August). I am also on my first cycle TTC after 7 years on Microgynon and am waiting to see if I ovulate this month or not. I've started charting with fertility friend and using OPK's to test for my LH surge.

It seems like lots of you are in similar situations! I hopefully won't be far behind you all. I'm 25, and my husband and I will soon be trying for our first child. I took my last pill (microgynon) on the 9th of August and had my withdrawal bleed from the 13th of August. Right now we're waiting for my first period before we really start trying. Hopefully it will arrive in the next week, but it seems like it takes a longer time for some people after coming off the pill.

Have you guys had any symptoms after coming off the pill? I've been a lot happier! Now I'm wondering if the hormones were really affecting me?

Jenb, I am in my first cycle a little ahead of you at the moment and had all your symptoms. Now 5 weeks after my last pill and still no period so don't expect to get period "on time" as the ones you were having on the pill are withdrawal bleeds not real periods. I read it usually takes 2-6 weeks for first period to show up. Looks like mines taking it's time!

x

Hi all can I join you? Came off the BCP (microgynon) at end of July and had a withdrawal bleed as usual. Also had my first proper period in August.

Should be O in next few days but DH is away with work for the next 10 days so looks like it'll be next month at the earliest. But the good thing is I get to join him in the US next week and since we know it won't be this month I"ll get to have a few drinks while I'm there with a clear conscience!! :happydance:

Also bought my first OPK today - I was trying to go for the relaxed approach but I thought I would at least be better getting a better idea of my proper cycle for future reference...

Anyway all on my own without DH  so no doubt I"ll be stalking this site for the next couple of weeks for someone to talk to!!

wow were all pretty close! :) is there a thread for 1st timers starting around now?

i guess i wont be ovulating this week if its going to take longer for me to take my period i feel like im going to come on at any time i feel really bloated and very sore lower abdo cramps and sometimes sharp pains its been this way all week i hope it goes away soon im gonna have to invest in some opk's!! i seen them for cheap on ebay
i didnt think i would have symptoms from coming off the pill but i guess being on those hormones for that long changes your body i dont think ill go back on the pill again

Conina, my husband spends some time away too so I know how hard it can be x

Jenb, I will probably get some ovulation stick as I might relax a bit more if I know I'm ovulating.

I wont be going on the pill again in a hurry either!

x

Thanks Raspberry. He's not away too often, this is the first time in ages. Just bad timing but at least I get a nice holiday away out of it!!
