I've been sat reading through threads for the last couple of hours but I haven't found anything that may help me. I had my Mirena coil removed back in the beginning of September, and have had two 'normal periods' on a 25-26 day cycle. I'm now on day 3 of my third (what I presume is a normal cycle)... Does anyone have any advice on how long it took them to conceive after having this coil removed? I had it in for 4 and half years with no problems whatsoever. I know I'm jumping in with questions that have probably already been asked....I'm just so confused...x

I don't have any answers for you, I just came off the pill and confused too! I hope things get sorted for you soon! FX

Thanks hun. I really just don't know about anything, would really appreciate it if someone could give me a little advice. I'd also like to know about the best vitamins etc to take when TTC xx

I have always heard good prenatal ones are the best! The same ones you would take once you are pregnant!

Ohh I think I know which ones you mean. Sainsburys had an offer on not long back. May be worth taking a trip down there! How long you been TTC x

A few months now, Recently came off the pill and so my body is doing all kinds of weird things, playing mind tricks on myself and everything haha
How about you?

Had my coil taken out beginning of September. Pulling my hair out that I'm not preg yet!! X

Yh I know the feeling, I am going crazy in my head, I keep thinking I have symptoms which I really don't. ugh! sucks lol

As far as I'm aware you are fertile again from the day you have it removed.

I needed fertility treatment but they started me the day my mirena was removed so as specialists obviously didn't see it as an obstacle.

I wouldn't be worried yet, you're on your third cycle and you stastically have a good chance of getting a BFP in the next few months.

Why not use opks or temp this month to reassure yourself you are ovulating

Thanks hun, I only I'm only really early on but me and my OH are just so excited. He keeps thinking there's something wrong with him cos we aren't pregnant yet..and with him worrying, also makes me worry x

I had this birth control last year and it took me and my husband 3 cycles to get pregnant, but I only had it for about 10 months... It releases hormones that thins out your uterine wall and can take a few cycles for the wall to thicken back up :) good luck!!

My 3 periods have been pretty heavy (sorry TMI!) So I'm hoping everything is back to normal :)

Good luck to you!!! Fingers crossed it happens soon :) I was super anxious when we didn't get pregnant the first month but then was super excited when we did the third! Good luck!! 😄

Aww I'm so happy for you. Fingers crossed x

I am wondering the same Kristy. I can't give you advice, other than to chart to see if you are ovulating.

I had mine out November 10th (CD2 of the previous cycle), but I only had it 2 years and I had a 25-28 day cycles with light periods 4-5 months after I had the it placed. The difference in our situations is that I've had a child after 2 TTC cycles when I was 25 years old. That was after 1 year off BC pills (total time on BC was 10 years before I stopped it.). I got the mirena 4 months after she was born.

I got my first post mirena AF last weekend and I am currently charting/using OPK's to pinpoint O. I should know by New Years Day if I am pregnant, and that would mean it took 1 TTC cycle after mirena was removed. I hope it's that easy, but I am 4 years older now than I was when I got PG the first time! Fxxxx!

Brit, did you have periods when you had Mirena in?

I had periods for the first year after the coil was put in. Then absolutely nothing! Was pretty amazing not having to worry, but now all I'm worried about is not being able to concieve. My tracker says I'm due to ovulate around the 20th but I'm really unsure of what signs to look for to know when I definitely am. Me and my OH have been DtD every other day so I'm hoping that should work this month. If I'm due to ovulate on the 20th and my period isn't due til 2nd Jan...when can I test? X

That's what I can't shake either....did mirena screw me up? But I shouldn't have those thoughts be cause I have had one kid and this is only cycle one. This whole process is so slow and takes over the mind!

Signs of O are in the cervical mucus, thin and watery to egg white, high soft cervix. Temps can be useful too. I think you are set if you are BD'ing every other day though (dang, aren't you TIRED?? lmao!!) I'd say you could test starting around 1/2. Thats about 13 DPO. Some start testing 9dpo, but it's just a waste of $$ imo.

I had 2 Mirena IUDs over the course of 6 years straight (1 for 5 years, 1 for 1 year) I had it removed in Jan 2014 and conceived in July 2014-I'm 24 weeks now. I got AF about 2 weeks after I got it out and it was the first AF I'd had in 6 years. Yep, no period the whole time I was on it. Loved that about Mirena. Anyway, my cycles were between 29-35 days and AF was always super light And short. It had me worried but I guess it all worked out ok. My sister took 7-8 months after Mirena too but everyone is different. Happy to answer this b/c I wanted the same info when I was ttc! Best of luck to you.

Ps. The month i conceived I took mucinex (the one where the long g word is the only ingredient) b/c I never noticed ewcm and I was also really on top of my folic acid supplements that month. I had been using the Internet cheapie ovulation strips every month to make sure I was having an LH surge but the month i conceived I didn't use them. All of that could have been coincidence but I thought I'd mention it!
