TTC is ruling me!

just need a rant really - so far we have been TTC for 15months! The first 9months i wasn't worried and just felt that these things take time! As friends got pregnant and had their babies - it started taking its toll and making me wonder Why not me?

In April we were referred to a Gynae and have had a series of tests which all detrmined the issue was ME! which i knew all along! I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and no ovulation!

I have started taking metformin and the doc wouldnt give me Clomid till i try this for a few months!

I am currently CD57 no Af since July 17th and feeling pretty low.

and constantly battling myself to stay positive but this is so hard! I wake up in the morning and think about it same thru the day and same when i go to bed! i try and put on a brave face but sumtimes i just want to scream!
I just dont get it! Im ready for my first child so ready that it hurts every day knowing that im still in for a long fight with this! I will never give up on my dream but at the moment it just seems impossible!

awww i know what you mean we were trying for 15 months in total and i just thought it would never ever happen im the last of my friends to get preg but i did try and stay relaxed - easier said than done i know but dont get too down it WILL happen and I hope it happens for you this month according to your ticker only 9 days til testing so your not out keep up the pma babe

thanx hun, i've got bloods on mon to check if i o'ved this month! think im just worried that even after all the pos signs that i did infact O this month! im worried the bloods will say otherwise! xx

try not to worry just think you'll know on monday one way or another, i think the worst thing is we cant control any of this can we stupid bloody waiting game all the time 24/7... im sure you will have and that the results will be fine keep us updated and chin up xx

Hang in the hon! You'll find so many ladies in this forum wtih PCOS and on clomid that fell pregnant and are now trying for their second!

You'll definitely be a mum of one, of two, of three. On of my ttc buddies has PCOS and is now trying for her fourth.

I know PMA is easier said than done, but you will have a baby, that I promise. And when it does come, you'll be relieved to see that time went by like the blink of an eye, even though now it seems you've been struggling for an eternity!

Aawww hunny, so sorry you're feeling low at the mo, big, no MASSIVE hugs coming your way!!!

Not been on here all week, as not had access to internet at home, so may have missed something, but I thought things were looking good at the mo? Do you not now think you've O'ed? What day do you think you did O? It's not over until the witch shows, and the CD you are on doesn't matter as long as you have O'ed.

I know it is really hard (I'm not good at taking my own advice either), but try and occupy your mind with other things for the weekend, until you get your results on Mon. There's nothing you can do until you get those results, and there is no point sending yourself mental in the meantime (althoug I know we're all a bit mental really)! Have you tested yet, to put your mind at rest?

Hope you feel a little better after venting. Huge hugs for you, I hope Monday brings you some well deserved news xxxxx

The good news here is that you have a diagnosis and now know what you are up against, the doctors are on board and you have medication. It will happen honey, and now you are armed with what you need to get there!

Just wanted to add something

My very good friend was my old work place is 45 and has just had her 3rd child.

She has one very bad ovary and was told for years since she was late teens prob never have children

She tried for years & years and ended up writing it all off at 38. She went round the world and travelled and just gave up on the idea.

The next year she fell preg!

Then again the year after and 3 years after that.

I truly believe it will happen at some point for everyone..

Sorry to hear you're having a tough day today - hope you manage to get out and do something nice! Your scan was a really good indication you were ovulating and hopefully Monday's tests will confirm that. And who knows - by next weekend it may be your turn to celebrate!!! Really hope you get some good news soon!

I'm sorry to hear it's getting to you

I too have PCOS and have been ttc for 20 months, so I know how hard it is.

I never ovulate either. I had a laparoscopy and ovarian drilling last month and today for the first time ever I got a positive on an ovulation test! I couldn't believe it. I'm on CD 55 today.

My specialist never tried me on Metformin or Clomid for some reason, he just referred me for the lap straight away.

Is a laparoscopy an option for you if the meds don't work?

I'm beginning to think it may have worked for me..

Thank u all so mich for ur replies, all of u have made me feel a bit better! think im just getting a bit impatient and stressed! its such a hard waiting game isnt it! and this has been my longest no show for AF!
seems to have lasted an eternity if u know wat i mean, i have everything stocked up for next month and going give it good bash on my own!

Sorry to hijack your post but can I ask how they are testing to see if you OV? My OB/GYN said he doesnt feel any cysts but dx me with PCOS. Ive never paid attention so closely to my cycle before but I got EWCM and temp rise and all this month but I am not sure if that actually means I have released an egg? Couldnt it just mean I had the hormone fluctuations? Just wondered how they are testing you and if you know what hormones they test for? I know they tested my FH, LH, and FSH in the past. Any insight would be great!

Thanks! did they do an internal scan of ur ovaries, not heard of gynae's being able to "feel" cycts, i thiught they were identified thru a transvaginal scan (internal exam where a probe type camera is inserted to check ur ovaries on a screen)! i may be wrong tho hun so dont quote me! but thats wat i had done

CD 21 or (7DPO) but if ur not regular ie every 28days or so then this can b very difficult to predict when ov has past! they check for a rise in ur progesterone levels to confirm ov!

hope this has helped and if ur gettin EWCM and temp rises, sound like a positive sign to me! xx

This is my first month charting so I hope that I did OV. According to my chart we timed everything perfect. I was so excited looking at it after FF confirmed OV. I know alot of girls go through the symptoms of OV but the egg creates into a cyst. I am not sure if the symptoms are the same. I will have to go in a few months and get some more blood work if nothing has happened. Thanks again!
