TTC, pregnancy and excersize/ weight loss?

Hi ladies I was wondering if anyone knows if its ok to excersize and try to lose weight while ttc and pregnancy? I have gained 20 pounds this year and it has really lowered my self esteem i finally got a excersize buddy to keep me motivated and we would like to start going to the gym in december to lose the weight but idk if its ok to do this if im ttc r if im pregnant. Has anyone dome this before?
 
Dieting while TTC is fine just as long as you don't go to extremes. Severe exercise or calorie counting (less than 1200) can prevent you from ovulating.
 
If you are more than 10% overweight that can reduce your chances of getting pregnant. I'd concentrate on really healthy living, say 30-60 mins of exercise at least 3 times a week. Just go at a comfortable pace for you. Eat plenty of fruit and vegies and cut out all junk food and sugar. Walking is great exercise, especially if you add in a gentle hill or two. Don't do anything extreme because it may stop you ovulating. But losing the weight will help increase your chances of pregnancy, also boost your confidence and self-esteem.
