Twins! just found out this morning!

I have been stalking this multiple section since I first found out I was preg......I had a feeling but didn't want to tell everyone in case I was wrong!
Well this morning we had our dating scan and there was two! as soon as she put it on I saw em both and was like "omg is that?!!!"
I don't even know where to begin. They measured 6w5d and the other was 6w3d (I think, thats the number in my pic but everything was asuch a blurr I wasn't really listening)
Is there anyone else due with twins round april may?
Also what to expect? Do most twin pregnancies continue after you see a heart beat? We saw both heartbeats and they were both nice and strong. Any advice? this is just unreal.......

Congratulations and welcome, so far a few ladies have joined who are only a couple of weeks ahead.
Stay positive, if nothing abnormal showed up at your scan I would think your twinnies have a very good chance. Well done

Hello Congratulations! I had a private dating scan done at 9 weeks and found out I was having non identical twins. I had a feeling something was very different about this pregnancy, hence me wanting the scan. This is my third pregnancy I already have two beautiful daughters! I have my 12 week scan this Wednesday and I can't wait, I'm due around 12th April.

Oh wow there are a few of you! I'm not sure what my date is, tbh even though I went in for a date I was too stunned and excited to even ask! My original date was 11th May and they measured a few days smaller than that so I am guessing about may 15th? I will find out at my next midwife appointment. Do they minus weeks cos they are multiples? or do they still count your pregnancy as a full 40 weeks?

Im still pretty stunned lol

I haven't been booked in with a specialist yet so no idea when they will recommend I deliver. So for now I'm just going by my dates and using 40 weeks to give me my EDD

I have an appointment with my GP this Wednesday and I'm guessing that she will refer me (I was told I'd be seen to a high risk pregnancy person since it is twins).

I haven't actually seen my GP in a month or so I've had lots of appointments though because of low HCG levels in the beginning and some brown discharge (I'm Rh neg so had to get the rhogam)

The weeks stay the same as they would a singleton here is a brief run down of what happened to me

6 weeks - scan (due to bleeding) found out its twins
12 weeks - normal dating scan
16 weeks - appointment with consultant (as multiples are considered high risk and consultant led)
20 weeks - normal anomaly scan

then you will get scanned every four weeks if fraternal and two weeks if ID

My NHS region induces twin births at 38 weeks and if the leading twin is head down and their are no other issued they let you delivery vaginally.

Wow! Yeah i been doing reading online this morning and have been crying the whole time haha but good crying! preg hormones oh my goodness!
So many scans! how exciting!
I briefly spoke to my midwife she will be signing me over to hospital care at or just after 20 weeks. My next appointment seems so far away.

Good luck with your appointment Vickie! I'm rh neg too but luckily I haven't had any probs with that
