Hey ladies!

We had a private scan at what we thought was 11wks 5days but the twins measured 12+4 and 12+2, they we're 2 days apart at 9wk scan too.

My NHS scan isn't until 2nd jan which according to this new date will make me 14+3 should I try to bring it forward or will I most likely be back at 13+4 which is what I would be going on previous scans. Bit of a garble but I hope it makes sense!

Any experience with being put forward then back a week? Xxx

Mine are Ivf so we know the dates for sure, but they meaaured farther ahead sometimes too, I'm not sure they would change your due date bc of it or not.

I guess we won't really find out until the NHS scan :coffee: :haha:

So many unknowns with twins

I've already commented in your other thread lol But just in case anyone else is lurking for an answer... the NHS scan at '12 weeks' will set your date and then it won't be moved from then, no matter what they are measuring after that :) x

Hehe thanks chick :) only a week and 4 days to wait :coffee:

Will I get some sort of care plan then or will that come later? The appointment they sent through says 'scan + history'

I never had that on my letter. Mine was the NT scan and my history was done by midwife at booking in  Did you opt out of the NT option at your booking in appointment with midwife? Just wondering why you have had to wait so long for the NHS scan x

Nope, we want nt! But looks like we'll miss out now! :( they said they've gone from my last scan with the epau which was 6+4 rather than lmp which is a week ahead and 2 days in front of what they measured Saturday. I know if I call they'll just say they go by there scan. I think they're just being awkward cause I waited 2wks for the apt to come through then started calling daily as they hadn't made the apt. Going by 6+4 scan I'll be 13+4 but by latest scan 14+3! The look on their faces will be a picture if they agree with this scan lol

The NT doesn't bother me that much, we've saw the nasal bones and backs of necks looked normal, it's just frustrating that the tests are there but because of their lack of admin staff we'll miss out! And I believe they're the main things they look for.

Yes that's right the fluid behind the neck should be measured the nasal bone present but it should also be accompanied by a blood test. Hopefully they can still do the blood test accurately x

Yh I'm hoping so! I couldn't get over how rude they were each time I rang, miserable cows! Lol xx

it's a huge inconvenience having to scan twins because you take a double appointment! You should have seen their faces when they were told i HAD to have a scan on xmas eve for twins... They had to cancel someone (sorry to who ever that was!) so i could have a double slot. Only once have i been able to schedule to the next appointment there and then, usually i have to wait for a letter in the post. There are some lovely techs who go out of their way and spend time looking at the babies and what they are doing, and some right jobsworths who do the bare minimum and send you on your way.

They just kept telling me they had no staff to make the appointment, they hadn't even looked at the letter to know it was twins at that point lol ooo I bet they loved that! Thing is twins need monitoring so much more and they make out it's our fault as a patient. I totally get what you mean about the techs, some are fab others couldn't give a crap! At my first scan with DS I was 9wks instead of 12 due to dates and she was like 'oh you're not 12wks, I said yes I know I ovulated much later and told that to my mw at booking appointment' then when I asked for a photo! Jeeze would have thought id asked to run through the halls naked! X
