So I'm TTC and never one to be unprepared, my OH and I have been looking into baby names. I found one that I really like for a girl:

Isabelle

However, one of my close friends named her daughter Isadora, who she calls Izzy. My OH and I have also talked about the possibility of using Izzy as a nickname for our future daughter. So my first question is:

*Would it be too weird for me to name my daughter Isabelle? Are the names too close? Would it be stupid of us to use the same nickname?

My second question is which spelling everyone prefers. I've added a poll so it's easy to vote. Options are:

*Isabelle
*Isabel
*Isobel

Thanks for any opinions ladies! :flower:

I like Isabelle, the option is there for you to call her Bella if you think using the same nn would be weird? I'm not a fan of the other spellings I think they look incomplete x

I think you should go for it if you like it. Also I like the spelling Isobel as that's the traditional way x

I prefer Isobel, it is what I want to call this LO if it's a girl :). I don't think I'd use the same nickname as my friends LO, unless we weren't that close and wouldn't see each other that often.

I don't think the name is a problem, I'd probably use Belle or Bella as a nickname though.

Isobel is a beautiful way of spelling it x
