For our next baby we have both a girl and a boys name picked out and they are both place names. We have one daughter now (name not a place name), but if we have a third and it's the opposite gender to our next, then I'd like to use the name we don't use this round.

I love both names so I'd like to use them both, but is that a no-no? That would leave us with two children in a row with place names and I'm worried that people would find that too distracting. What do you think?

Why would it be distracting? Ultimately, your children will rarely be referenced in relation to their siblings all at the same time, especially once they're grown and off on their own. If you like the names, use them.

I wouldn't personally but if u love both and have the opoptunity to use both why not ?! X

I don't think it would be an issue at all.
Our DS has names that could both be surnames. If we have another boy it will also have 2 names that could be surnames as well!

If you love the names, go for it! :)

I don't think it's strange, I don't really think of names as place names anymore because it is so normal.
If you love the name, use it! :)

For me it would depend on the names. Some place names don't automatically scream of the place to me, names like India and Sydney, I guess because I've heard them used as names a lot. It wouldn't seem odd to me to have 2 children with those names. Other place names I've heard like Boston, Bristol and Asia do make me think of the place and it would seem a little odd to me hearing of 2 siblings with those names. But that's just personal opinion, and I bet a lot of people wouldn't think the same!

Ones like Aidan, Lourdes etc wouldn't strike me but say London Paris would.

I agree with Hive on this one. They'll likely be in different grades, have different friends etc and they won't be kids for long. Before long they'll be adults with very few personal references to their siblings so you may as well name them what you like :)
