pointless thread but its 3.30 am and im wide awake lol

think my puppy is getting me ready for being a mum he wanted to go toilet at 3 this morning so i let him outside, when he came back in he dripped poo everwhere and i had to give him a bath change the sheets on the bed get some washing soaking in the tub, and now i camt go back to sleep because he keeps wanting to go toilet outside!!

im going to have a fun day at work tomorrow being half asleep lol

lol! poor girl.
i've read that dogs can sense when someone is pregnant. and they'll show signs by trying to protect you and trying to snuggle more with you.
 read it online dunno how true though lol.

lol i thought so to but my two dogs havent changed if anything they jump all over me more def not protecting me lol

My pup peed all over the floor in the laundry room. Do you have the ability to tie your pup up outside? when mine isn't feeling good and has the runs in the house she gets locked inthe laundry room or put on a chain in the backyard (we give her a blanky too).
My dogs definitly know that I'm prego. They stopped jumping on my (as much) and the older one is being really protective.

Oh don't! We're getting a puppy in 2 weeks, am i mental?! 2 babies under 2 and a pup pooing everywhere?! xxx

Get some puppy potty pads. You aren't crazy- especially if you get an older puppy (12 weeks and up) the puppy should be potty trained by the time baby arrives.

He'll be 11wks when we get him, i'm very excited! Now we're not in army accommodation and hubby is home for good it finally feels like the time to do it. We're getting a labradoodle, he's pretty darn cute! I'll try the puppypotty pads for sure, thanks for that MissFox! xx

That's great! My dogs are my best friends. You pup may be (hopefully not too much) a little aggressive towards others since you are pregnant- but it will go away after the baby is born. Our big white dog wont let people near our vehicle when she's in it because she's protecting me. I got my pup from a shelter so we had a hard time potty training- had to get some potty pads and put a paper towel she peed on on it so she knew if she had to pee she could do it there. We also had to deal with some food aggression but have since worked that out. She's great now.

Thats brill that you have it all sorted, my parents have a dog from a shelter and had similar issues, it just takes lots of love and patients i think. Their dogs are the same with me, last pregnancy and this one they are very protective, will lie at my feet and not let anyone near me - especially my hubby stragely! I think that is quite sweet really!xxx

we have a springer spaniel bitch, she's nearly one but i remember the sleepless nights very well. but she is lovely now, i wouldn't change her for the world & she is going to be a great friend to our little one i'm sure.
i didn't find the puppy pads worked coz rylee would rip them to pieces, little sod :growlmad: but we put her outside everytime she had an accident & within a few weeks she was house trained.

i'm quite soft on her though, she cried when we shut her in the kitchen to sleep so she now sleeps in our room  but not in our bed so i suppose thats something

Yea- my pup only sleeps with me when DF is still up gaming or he's out of town for work.

we just used news paper and they went on that, then when they where 5 months old i took it away and they cry at the door until we get up to let them out, although sometimes they decide they dont want to go outside and will do their business by the door, guess thats me and OH's fault for not yelling at them when they do it because we don't know what one did it and what one didn't. thankfuly that only happens once in a blue moon these days.

i am nevous about what OH's puppy with be like with the baby at first as she just gets so excited i know she would never bite but she just wont leave the baby alone at first i think it will take her a good month to get over the baby being there. my pup will be fine with the baby i dont think he will even go near it

I think puppies are a good 'trial run' for new parents, lol. My DH did all the night-time potty breaks (he gets up to pee in the middle of the night anyway and I sleep through til morning).
We crate-trained our Bichon. Even still, it took FOREVER to get him to go outside... we basically had to watch him like a hawk whenever he was outside his crate and watch for 'bathroom sniffing'. He ignored or shredded the puppy pads! :dohh:
He's super smart, but just isn't good at letting us know when he has to go... he was even known to start dropping poops along behind him on our walks because he wouldn't tell us it was time to stop and poo.
What worked for us was training him to use potty-bells... we hang them by the front door, and he goes up and taps them with his paw when he needs to go out. We trained him with them for maybe 2 weeks and BAM after that he was house trained!!
Oh and when sick, he goes in his crate where we can easily wash his bedding... can't leave him outside because of raccoons and skunks.

Heya sorry completly not related but I havent been in the ttc section for a while and im mega pleased to see you got your BFP :) Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy :D
