UK - Formula Milk Brands

Which one's will you go for?
We have a tub of SMA as DH was fed on it so thats what he wanted
Anyone have any advice as o which one?

The main one's I think are SMA, Cow and Gate and Aptamil

My DD was fed on SMA and had no probs whatsoever (as like your DH I was fed on it)

But DS was fed on Aptamil as SMA made him constipated so sometimes its just trial and error

I fed my little sister on SMA - She had no problems at all I think i'd like to try cow and gate just for a change! If theres any issues ill be back to SMA. x

I breastfed my son for two weeks until i got mastitus (spelling?!) and i then used SMA, which made my son sick, so i switched to apatamil, with this baby i think im going to try cow and gate though! xx

I breastfed but had to give a formula feed when LO was about 3-4 days old due to mis-information about pumping at the hospital [we were still in hospital at this point] and I gave Aptamil as apparently it's the closest to breastmilk

My DH and I were both SMA babies, but it didn't agree with Roo at all. Projectile-vomit-tastic! We probably used Aptimil the longest, but also used Cow & Gate and Hipp Organic at various points

Aptamil over here, no probs at all with it (but i have a very non-sicky, easy to burp, colic free baby!)

We tried SMA for DS but didn't get on with it at all - made him very colicky! Switched to Aptamil and had a much happier baby. I'm going to breastfeed this time, but if for whatever reason it doesn't work out I will definitely be using Aptamil again.

I will probably give sma a go first, mainly as that's what a few close friends have fed their babies. If it doesn't agree with her I would probably switch to aptamil xxx

Ive always used SMA.. back when I had my first there wasn't such a huge choice readily available, and SMA was the most well known, so I went for it.. then used the same on the others just coz I'd used it before!

I bought cow and gate once, as they had sold out of sma, and opened it to be greeted with lots of little bugs crawling around in the powder!

I started Aliyah on SMA gold. It was no good for her at all. Made her so constipated! When researching it i found it made alot of babies constipated too ,but that doesn't mean its the same for all
I swear by Aptamil (well with Aliyah anyway). I plan on breastfeeding but if i did switch i would go with Aptamil again

My little girl was on them all, turns out she had severd G.E.R.D and ended up being on neocate (prescription milk) with a cocktail of drugs in it, she was fully weaned at 4 months and hasn't had a bottle since because she just throws it back up and ends up in screaming agony.
Out of the 'normal' milks though we found Aptamil the best and so will try with that this time if breastfeeding doesn't work out again.

Once I'd finished breastfeeding my daughter we switched to SMA.

I was given that as a baby and it seemed to be the most well established and well known brand. My daughter had no problems on it whatsoever.

I plan on using the same for this baby once I'm done breastfeeding. Hopefully this baby will take to it ok but if for some reason it didn't agree with it then I'd probably try cow and gate.
