Uk ladies- any advice on how to chase up a scan date??

Hi

I saw my midwife 3rd Jan and our maternity hospital just recently closed down and it's all moving to a new fancy hospital. She told me that my next midwife apt would be around 3 weeks where they will take bloods etc. That should be next week and I haven't heard anything. She said there was a backlog with scans so that would be around 4 weeks but I havent heard about that either. I'm heading for 11 weeks minimum at the minute.. Is this normal? I'm getting impatient and could do with some notice so hubby can get time off! Any advice appreciated from ladies who had similar xx

I phoned the hospital myself (women and children unit) when i hadnt heard by around 11 weeks (I had my midwife app about 9 weeks). They just gave me the date over the phone. Make sure if you getting NT scan that it takes place before 13+6. x

Hmm, I'd say to phone the antenatal dept at the new unit, they should have you on record. If you don't have the number phone the main hospital switchboard and ask for antenatal. If they don't know they should at least be able to tell you who to ask. What a pain though! Hope you get it sorted

I had my midwife app on 28th Nov and she told me it would take about 7-10 days for the letter to come through. I called up 16th Dec to say i still hadnt heard anything and she said my scan was on the 19th (!!)

I'm in the same boat - haven't seen nor heard from the NHS since I told my GP at 5 weeks. I ended up calling the hospital twice and they apparently sent me a letter on Monday, the midwife was supposed to call me with a date too but of course that never happened. If I don't get it Friday I'll be calling back (I'm 10 weeks on Sat)... that's just for the booking in appt!! No mention of scans, but I figured I'll push for a date when I'm finally face to face with the midwife. Think chasing is the answer!

I just phoned Obs and Gynea this morning to get my scan date (16th Feb)

they were fine about it xx

My GP didnt contact my midwife either so I just phoned the surgery and made my own appointment. The midwife fills in all your scan paperwork and sends it off so the sooner you see her the sooner you will get your scan date. x
