UK ladies - q about consultant care & matb1 form :)

Hi there

I'm under consultant care following bleeds & migraines. I had a scan at 16 weeks & saw a MW before the consultant who tested my urine & took my BP. So do I now need to go & see the MW too? I think normally I would but is there any point? What do they do at this appt? Do they measure you yet? I can't remember from last time!

Also, is this the appt I would get my matb1 form? As if so I definitely need to go!!

The MAT B1 comes after 20 weeks hun, no one gives them out before that... are you talking about a 16 week midwife appt as I am not sure which appt u mean?

Not sure. At my 16week it wasn't much more than BP, urine and fundal height. Didn't get matb1 either, so I'd guess it's not necessary.

they took more blood off me at 16 weeks but that was for the downs syndrome screening test so guess it prob depends on wether u want that? also got to listen to baby's hb which id never turn down a chance for, was amazing xxx

I had bloods done at 12week scan for downs so I guess you get it at 16weeks if you are having the quad screening rather than the combined test at 12 weeks. My midwife also listened for the heartbeat but only managed to find it for a few seconds before the baby moved away again. She said this was very common at 16weeks.

Can you phone the community midwife and ask if you still need an appt? The next standard one is not until 25 weeks normally and that is quite a long wait.

Yup, mean the 16 week one

Dont think I'll bother as had a scan so know growth is fine, got another consult appt in 2 weeks where theyll test urine & BP again, then mw/consult again 2 weeks later after 20 week scan (when I think they give me matb1 form as last time I was 19+6 & they wouldn't give it to me!). Sounds like lots of appts to me
