I don't know if many women know this but I though I would share as it will be worth it if u didn't

There is something called a Healthy Pregnancy Grant that the government pay out to every woman at your 25th of pregnancy or anytime after before the birth

Most woman will get this unless u are subject to immigration or your not ordinarily resident in the UK

It is for £190 pounds (better than nothing) is tax free and u don't have to pay it back

All you do is ask your doctor or midwife for the form after 25 weeks and make sure they fill in there bit

I'm afraid I was under the impression that our current wonderful Government has taken the £190 grant away too. never mind

Yes the £190 has gone. If you are on low income I think you can get vouchers for something, free milk that sort of thing. I used the £190 last time on cloth nappies!

It's now called a Sure Start Maternity Grant, it's a one off payment of £500 and is only available to those on lower incomes etc.

I had the 190 last time and asked my MW yesterday and they have definately stopped it, It was called health in pregnancy grant for a reason... to stock up fridge freezer with healthy food etc encouraging mummy to be to eat good nutricious food.

a lot of women i know spent it on prams or clothes instead

So true but I eat healthy anyway so no need to spend more money on food that will go to waste

Yes i think they took it away as well. Its just if you on benefits of some kind on their list
