Hi all
Well had the cvs today - all went fine
Scanned the baby fully and all seemed perfect (no signs of ds)
My blood results from my original test were all normal too - nothing to suggest a problem. So just need to wait til Monday to get the cvs result back - eeeeeeeekkkkk

So god knows why I got 1/5 chance of ds - they seem to think its just when they entered my age in the formula It spewed out an odd number

Thanks all for your support xxx

Hi Isabella
Still gotta wait for the cvs results but the blood test I had last week seem fine no elevated levels to suggest why I'm so high risk

Just a waiting game now xx

It may have been because of your age. I am 39 and my doctor told me if I did the blood test, it would automatically give me a high risk and recommend CVS or amnio. Since I wasn't interested in those options (due to previous unrelated miscarriages I am paranoid about m/c), I didn't do the blood work. But she did sound pretty positive that at 39, the blood work would automatically come back as high risk. I hope it's just a false alarm and you get good news Wednesday!

Great news that all is looking good so far! I will keep my fingers crossed for great results on Monday so that you take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

That sounds great. Do you have the blood test results and measurements?

Nt was 2.4mm but midwife said bloods were bang on normal.
No one has any idea what skewed the result to 1/5 but said must have been the formula didn't expect age of 39???

Glad went well and good luck for your results xx

This is Great news! I will continue to pray for you & hope the weekend flies by for you Hun :hugs:

That's good news! Age and nasal bone are also markers they enter x

Its probably a combo of everything. How many weeks were you exactly for the 2.4?
I think up to 2.0 is normal up to 11 weeks and up to 2.8 is normal for 13 weeks.

I think if you just had a blend where everything is on the higher end of normal plus your age it gave you a high value.

For example...
My risk before my screening based on my age alone was 1:438

I had 1.2 measurement and factored in with my age, 32, and bloods 38.41ng/ml free beta hcg and 1.19 PAPP-A my total risk was 1:8741

Try and find out your free beta hcg and papp-a. It might help make more sense of it.
That said, there is an 80% chance everything will be fine.

At my 20 week scan I discovered I was 1:3 for DiGeorge due to a heart defect my daughter has. I had the amnio and she doesn't have it. She still has the defect, but that is correctable with a few surgeries. I know how terrifying it can be to see those numbers but they are still on your side.

Good luck.

Very glad to hear everything seemed well :)

Jennabelle I am so happy all went well, and that everything appears to be perfect so far! I have a really strong feeling your baby will be just fine, with no ds! When will you know the results?
