Everytime I ask something I am told its too early or I am too early and to ask next time, I am 28 weeks, so yes still early, the next time I see anyone (health care) I will be 33 weeks.

I have no idea who my doctor is, I have seen three doctors so far all of whom give me different complicting information, The first said i would be induced at exactly 38 weeks, the second, during my 37th week and today, he possibly may induce me if I get to 40 weeks.

My presenting twin is breach, which I KNOW isnt a problem now, but I keep asking, when will be become a problem and they say its too early.

I wrote a letter of concern mostly listing my questions and ist 4 pages long (2000 words)! When the hell will my questions be answered?

I dont really see my MW at all, seen her three times my whole pregnancy, including my booking in appt.

I just wanted someone to answer some of my questions, because now its a huge list and no one will have time to answer them all. Some are silly and some are a huge stress, but they are things that are bothering me and because its clearly matters who is the doctor on the day then i am left really confusied.

The NHS are releasing new NICE guidlines very soon, the draft is avaliable online, and it states that all ladies pregnant with twins should be offers and give information on having a section or induction at 37+0 and that risk of fetel death is much higher past 38 weeks! In triplets its 35 weeks.

Perhaps im just over hormornal.

:hugs: I'd start off by phoning your midwife, listing your concerns about the conflicting advice you are receiving from the consultants, and request a further meeting to discuss the points on your letter with your named consultant.

Did you post or email your letter? I would be inclined to email it to all the consultants (cc'd in) so you know that they have actually seen it.

Arm yourself with information - I really hope you get some satisfactory answers soon :hugs:

Totally understand E hun :hugs: I wasn't booked for my section until 34wks, and we didn't discuss it until then. My twins were breech until 32wks, when twin b went head down. My doc wouldn't discuss options until their positioning was certain, but she was receptive to a section from day 1 just because it was twins. I was surprised that she didn't book me in until 38plus wks because I like you had read that going beyond 37 was risky with twins. All was ok in the end tho hun, if that's aany consolation.

I must admit, one upside to having the cervical stitch (and there weren't many benefits ;)) was that I was under one consultant's care, and got regular scanning by her consistently throughout. You are entitled to discuss your concerns chick, ask to see your main consultant and express how concerned you are, and that you would like an appt :hugs: x

Thanks both, the final straw really was today when we said ill see you in 4 weeks, which i was thinking as long enough and when i booked the appt they booked it for 5 as there is an audit the week which would be my 4th week.

Ill call around on Monday and see who will see me, thanks ladies.

That's really terrible. I would become the squeaky wheel. I really hope you get some answers.

I feel like you! I have seen my consultant once at 13 weeks and ever since then have seen student doctors who say something completely different. Lucky for me i know that all my scans will be done by my consultant from now on so i know i will get the answers i need.

NHS can be a bit crappy for this sometimes!

Hope you get some answers soon x

I can totally understand why you are annoyed, but I hardly saw anyone until I got to 28 weeks and the it was every 2 weeks. I did not find out who my consultant was until 32 weeks and that's when we discussed the birth. But did not find out when I was going to be induced until I got to 36 wks.

I can totally see why you're so frustrated and upset. I have to say, i have had very good care up until now, with regular appointments between both my midwife and consultant (have seen a mixture of just 2 consultants). I do feel that I still have lots of unanswered questions but I get the impression that that's because they feel it's too early to answer my questions regarding labour and delivery etc.
I have seen my midwife alot, every 2 weeks since about 16 weeks but thats because it's the same midwife I had for my first pregnancy and she could see how anxious I was so felt it would benefit me to see her regularly -could you phone your midwife and explain how anxious you are and see if shell fit you in for an appointment - they have guidelines of when and how often to see you but they can override this if necessary!
Really hope you get some of your answers soon,
X

I would definately contact your midwife/consultant and book an appointment so you can discuss some concerns. If they try to fob you off, write a letter of complaint and send it to the head of obs/midwifery (I had to do this as I didn't like my consultant - she was horrible - and they took it seriously and assigned me a new consultant). However dont be surprised if they still don't answer some of your questions. I asked several times about when i was likely to be induced, if I'd have a c-section or normal delivery etc, but I was always told its too early to answer these questions. My consultant explained that with twins things are so unpredictable that she doesn't want to make promises or give me info that will be wrong, which made sense when I thought about it. It was about 34 weeks that I got my answers, but on other less serious questions, she was always happy to listen and talk things through with me. I hope you manage to get an appointment and get some of your questions answered. x

I'm in a similar boat.
I'm 26 weeks now and basically all I've had was my blood drawn and blood pressure checked.
I had to ask my doctor for an ultrasound and the 18-20 week diagnostic scan was never completed.
I've been suffering from really bad anxiety and panic attacks and have had no doctor to help me with those issues.
I have so many questions! He referred me to an OBGYN and the waiting list is long, but as soon as I was referred he quit seeing me, so I haven't been to the doctor in 6 weeks.

I totally sympathise ......although i have had scans and consultant (with any old junior doc who seems to be around!) clinic app. every 3 weeks since 20 weeks, it feels like everyone thinks someone else is doing something, when really no one is. I was told at first clinic that I would be induced at 38 weeks whatever (and either csec or natural depending on presenting twin) but otherwise seem to be in the dark. i had to ask for the blood tests at 28 weeks, and the swab test for early labour which was written on my notes.

Final straw for me was last week at 34 week scan and app. when I though hurrah I will get date for induction/scec .......when the doctors said as both twins are now transverse I needed to be kept in for observation til 38 weeks ............scary! (due to risk of cord prolapse)
He then went off spoke to consultant and said actually they will make decision at 37 weeks! Now thats really stressed me out - at one point risks were so high I needed to be in hospital ....then it was goodbye see you in 3 weeks!

Have now booked an appointment with midwife at doctors tomorrow and will go with my list ....but not holding my breathe

Hope you get some answers soon, as you seem to have very valid concerns. try not to stress too much ( I know easier said than done!) take care x

29 weeks and "theyll see you in 4 weeks" ???? That sounds so ridiculous!!
I am nearly 29 weeks and I have fetal stress tests and an ultrasound every week from now until they are born! I thought they were starting a bit early (maybe around 32 weeks) but nope! I am not any more high risk than any other twin pregnancy either, so if I were you I would definitely try and get some real answers/better care, hun! At the least, maybe you can talk to someone at the hospital and see what they think?

thinking of you, best of luck.
:hugs:

I have received my upgrade it would seem. I failed my gtt and am now seeing a specialist team every 2 weeks-I may even get to see the same face more than once too :O Anyway I hope you are getting on ok now and have kicked some bum!!

Ive not done anything about my care, yet anyway. I spent last weekend crying and feeling lost, upset and frustrated. But Ive had so much going on I didnt get round to doing anything, i spent ages looking for emails or addresses to post my complaint to, but nada, so looks like id have to deal with it face to face and im so not good at that.

If you are at a hospital antenatal clinic like me then ask who the clinic manager is start there, they will soon tell you who you need to speak with if you really kick up a stink! I would be as the later we get in with twins the more important these appointments are.

It's so frustrating just before I was referred to diabetes team I was starting to lose the will to live nobody could tell me blood test results straight and it took two weeks to get referred to diabetes team who got me in within a day of receiving referral. One mw told me the results of gtt were all fine and normal!

what symptoms did you have? does everyone get tested? ive not even had 28 week blood done! :growlmad:

I had it because my last baby was over 9pm and my mum has diabetes. If you get lots of glucose positive urine samples they will normally test you I've had ++ since about 8 weeks depending on breakfast and mid morning snack. I don't think they'll test you on it being a twin pregnancy but you can ask the question. I'm monitoring my blood sugar and it's only ok if I live on salad-not ideal! I don't know about symptoms as such I think you can get excessively thirsty, blurred vision and fainting but I didn't have any symptoms that I wouldn't have put down to pregnancy anyway.

my son was over 9lbs, but nothing picked up in my urine and when i had pancreatitis they has to do hour blood sugars and it was always really low, so thats good.

That's a really good thing trust me! I can't get my sugars anywhere near where they should be and I'm eating all the right things it's really frustrating! I think they build up your risk of gd from a number of factors the biggest thing going against me is mums diabetes.
