When out with lo and there is no parent and child loo or change room with loo in do u use the disabled or the women's and leave lo outside cubicle?

I confess to using disabled. There's some weirdos around and u never know somebody could try and take lo or hurt him or try and feed him something dangerous etc.

I feel that worried over it if another mum has left lo outside and I've got lo in pram then I stay til she comes back :dohh:

Pointless post really x

out in public, my kids never ever are out of my site...that includes potty runs!

I haven't been in this situation yet but wouldn't think twice and use the disabled toilet. Like overcomer, I wouldn't leave LO unattended whatsoever when out and about.

I use the disabled loo if there isn't a baby changing room with a loo inside. I'm way to worried to leave him outside x

I either use the disabled toilet or the baby changing ones normally have a toilet in and are big enough to get my pram in too even if im not changing lo ill use that one instead of using the ladies and leaving him outsite the cubical!

Yep, will use disabled loo.

Once, I couldn't get in disabled due o this new radar scheme some places have....
So resorted to going to an end cubicle, leaving the door open with LO facing me in the door way!

Exactly what is it and how does this work? Haven't heard about this yet...

If there is no baby change (I can't believe some places still don't have this) then yes I have used the disabled toilet. I only do this if I'm alone though.

The radar scheme is a key I think. All disabled people get them but all you have to do is ask an attendant to open it for you. I've never been refused.

Me neither, but this place, you have to go up three floors to get to the office to get the key....

Is there no-one else around? That's pants.

i use the disable toilet...i put her stroller in there with me its big enough same as clothing store change rooms they always give me the disable one so i can bring in my stroller

So wait...you need a key for the disabled bathroom...which they do so that non-disabled people can't use it...meaning only disabled people can. And it's up 3 floors..? 3 floors that a disabled person has to go up to get a key to use the bathroom?

Wow.

I've only ever had to go to the bathroom once when we were out where I was alone. Luckily he was in the moby so that wasn't a problem, but if I had his stroller and was alone I would use the disabled one.

I'd use the disabled too if there wasn't a toilet in changing room, my child's safety is top prority. If someone disabled said something to me when I came out of a cubicle I'd just ignore and walk away!

Exactly what I was thinking!

I don't think that would meet ADA regulations here thankfully!

Apparently disabled people have the key to get in, so have no need to go up the three flights.
It's a bid to prevent people from sleeping in the them I think.

but what if it is a visitor, they surely wouldn't have a key?

It's a nation wide scheme I think, so anyone anywhere can use them.

I've used the disabled toilet once so I could take the pram in with me. I'd rather risk annoying someone and consequently explaining my choice, than leaving my baby alone.

Ahh okay...we don't have that here so I wasn't sure.
