UTI anyone? :(

I'm really down at mo as I know I have a uti as my mum has dipsticks and I just did a test and it came up soooo wrongly postive that I have one I'm going to go to my gp tomo for treatment but I'm
Sick of and scared to have antibiotics again. I had some about 3/4 week ago for a bacterial infection & worried about having more so early in my pregnancy. Has anyone else had a uti & it's cleared after treatment??
I just want it to go I need the toilet literally every ten mins!!

sorry hun havent had uti and be pregnant but i am sure the docter will not give you anything if they think it harmful to bubs xox
Also i always used to drink fresh cranberry juice add ice for more pleasent flavour this is good for cleaning out womens infections im sure?!? xox

heya hun, i'm just getting over one - it sucks! I'm taking amoxycillin which is absolutely fine to take during pregnancy. The only down side is that it gives me thrush, so i'm using cream every day too! I've been very uncomfortable with it all, but it's on it's way out now and i feel much better. hope you clear it soon hun x x

I got a UTI during my 2WW, before I even knew I was PG. I told the doc I might be and he gave me antibiotics that were safe during PG. Took them for a week and felt so much better. Also ate some yogurt right after to try to avoid getting a yeast infection. So far, so good.

I'm sure the doctor will be able to help hun, and you'll feel SO much better!

well...with my 1st pregnancy..I had a constant UTI...Everytime I went to the doctor I had one....and it's the same with this one...I didn't even know I had one..So to be "safe" the doctor has put me on anti-biotics for my WHOLE pregnancy...ugh...it sucks so bad...yet ANOTHER pill I have to be sure and take everyday...but I guess better safe than sorry huh?

i had a uti at the beginning of this pregnancy and got antibiotics and it cleared up within a week its quite common to get em when your pregnant nothing to worry about just get it treated

Hello,

I'm eight weeks pregnant, and I have chronic UTI's that doesn't go away or does go away and comes back with in days, longest weeks. I'm constantly on anti-biotic's. UTI's causes no harm to the baby more of a pain to you though, although left untreated can lead on to Kidney Infection which can bring on labor. I'm currently on amoxicillin which contains penicillin which is fine in pregnancy and was on Augumenting 625mg whilst I was six weeks pregnant (week course) as my GP changes my anti biotics. so please don't worry, my baby is fine on ultrasound scan and heart was beating fine whilst I had a UTI. i've had uti's alot before pregnancy! i gave up soap and bubble bath (i only use shower/bath gel) and i've never had a uti again.

so been to docs... EVENTFULL

Saw doc who asked me to do a sample & they would send it off.... easy.. so went to toilet & came back to give sample to receptionist who told me the doc wanted to see me again as ive not had my 12 week scan yet (its next monday cant wait!!)

so she did a dipstick test and it came up positive but still cant give me antibiotics till they have sent the sample off anyway to make sure they give me the right antibiotics. As im pregnant they dont want to give me the wrong one, it not work, and have to have another ect. ect.

She then felt my stomach and said she could feel the uterus right underneath my belly button!! she then said she thinks i am further on than i thought or maybe TWINS!!

I left worrying .. ha.. and bumped into my midwife in reception & i told her so she took me straight to her room & she felt and luckly it not right up there its just above my pubic bone .. slightly to the left... hope thats normal.

M/w didnt seem worried so im not ... i was there an hour and half after all this messing around lol. At least am on my way to getting sorted and in the mean time im drinking lots of cranberry juice to speed up getting rid of the infection!! xx

yep..the whole pregnancy...lol and I have no idea if I will get amune to it..?!?! And thank you hunni, i really appreciate it...I hope yours clears up also.!!

uti's are actually really common when your pregnant, my obgyn told me. Make sure to go to the doctors to catch it, as early as you can.
