My daughter who is 9 was born by c-section as she was breach.
When I had my son who is 5 1/2 was born I decided to have another c-section as the midwife frightened me talking about scar ruptures etc.

The morning of my sons c-section the surgeon told me my first c-section scar was too high, he would make another scar lower this time. This is what happened and I didnt really question it.

When my son was born his face was horrific, to the point I cannot look at pictures of him as a new born. His face was swollen and extremly bruised, he was screaming and couldnt feed. There was no explanation from the medical staff as to why this was the case. I was very distressed.

The following day a nurse, who I know who worked in the operating theatre explained to me how the surgeon cut the new scar way too low, my son got stuck and they had to forcep him out through c-section. I wouldnt have known this if I hadnt have known the nurse working there.

I am now preggers for the third time, I would really like to try VBAC, but now I have two scars and wonder if this will effect things and make it riskier??

I just dont really trust the doctors and feel awful they never communicated properly to me :nope:

Hi hannbanana, I wont claim to be an expert on this subject, I've never had a c-section. Maybe other ladies will have a better answer for you, but my sister has had 2 c-sections. She was told that if she wanted to try a vbac then it was her decision, but there can be some risks. They said if she went into labour naturally then they would let her try (but not if she needed inducing), I think the contractions can be much stronger with induction.

She laboured naturally with him, but ended up with a c-section anyway as he got stuck coming out (he was 10lb 11oz though). I think as long as the risks aren't too great they will let you try if you insist you want to.

Hope this helps, though I'm sure someone in the same situation as you will be able to help more!

There are many people who have had a VBA2C.. so it is possible -but I think you have to reallly want one and be strong enough to encourage the medical proffesionals to let you try - I'm pretty sure if you google you should find some support groups...

I'm hoping someone with better advice comes along soon - good luck :)
