Hi all, Not posted In a while And I should state I am not pregnant (just now :haha:)

My daughter was premature and I had a c section with her I just want to be prepared for the future Is it possible to have a natural birth after a section? I really hate the thought of another section especially as I now have a little girl to be running around after. Will they give me any choice due to my complications Iv had before?

ANY advice and your experiences would be great thank you :hugs:

YES!
well.... I'm hoping so!
I had an EMC 20 months ago due to failure to progress and a suspected 'small' pelvis.... but have done a LOT of research, reading and talking to people and it seems there really are very few reasons why a VBAC would not be possible.
So far I've found the hardest thing is finding people who are supportive and not stuck in the old fashioned school of thought that once a c-section, always a c-section. I read 2 good books-
'The VBAC handbook'
'Dont cut me again'
Both available to download from amazon..... really worth a read before listening to doctors out of date information!!
Also- there are lots of great websites if you just google VBAC.
My doctor is supportive but I still dont agree with some of the things he says... but as I live in Kenya its been quite hard to find a doc even willing to give it a go! But I have a very supportive husband and Doula and so hopefully this time will be completely different!
So- I say, read up about it- arm yourself with all the upto date research and then maybe speak to a doc or midwife and see whats available to you.

Regardless of any complications they have to give you a choice. Its no ones choice but yours where and how you have your baby.

Thank you guys I will have a look at those books :) Im hoping If i go in determined enough I want a natural birth they wont try and persuade me into having another section x

Molly was an emergency c-section at 29 weeks due to preeclampsia. Ethan was a natural birth. My consultant actually seemed to assume I would want a vaginal birth. I wasnt looking forward to continuous monitoring during labour (which you can refuse), but I turned up to hospital fully dilated (not intentionally), so didnt have to worry about that!

I had an elective c-section with my first due to him being breech, and a vbac with my second :) so it is possible.

You will automatically be under a consultant because you've had a section, and they will be able to answer any questions you have about a vbac.
