Have any of you ladies had a VBAC. Im currently TTC with my second child. I had a c section due to preeclampsia with my first.

How did it go, and how easy was it to find a doctor willing to attempt it? TY all I would wish baby dust but most of the ladies in here don't need it anymore I assume! how about you all send me some baha :headspin:

Do you know what kind of incision the doctor performed for your c-section? If you had a low segment transverse you will have the best chance of being a good candidate for a VBAC.

Yes, I believe that is the kind I have, Can't even see my scar hardly and I never had any staples of anything for the doc to remove.

I had an emergency C-section with my first child and went on to have a vbac with my second, i am in the UK though, i am guessing you are over the States, apologies if i am wrong, i was just kept and extra close eye on, at one point they thought there was gonna be an issue with the scar and used ventouse to get him out, needless to say they were being slightly over cautious and everything was fine, hoping everything will be the same this time :)

The outside scar is not indicative of what kind of incision you had on your uterus. So I would ask your doctor from last time, or get your medical records. If you develop pre-eclampsia again, your doctor might be hesitant to try a VBAC. The best thing for you to do is start discussing this with your health care provider now and if they are not willing (and they have no good reason) you might want to change practitioners if it is something that you are really wanting to try.

I have had 2 VBACS my son was just to high and wouldnt come down. My second was really hard I tore a bit but nothing major and my third was a piece of cake I was in labor for 2 hours pushed twice and he was out in 15 minutes it was great. My doctor has me go in and get the epidural as soon as I go in, they prep me like if I was going into surgery that way if anything goes wrong Im ready to go. Its been a grea experience im glad I did both :)

Oh almost forgot! Lots of baby dust to you good luck!

Hi hun,
I had a c-section with my daughter because she was breech and am hoping for a VBAC this time around. I was going to let you know that https://www.babyandbump.com/labour-birth/658839-vbac-info-support.html is a bunch of ladies that are having vbacs or already had them. I joined the group because it was really helpful. Wishing you all the best hun!

Hey - just popping in from 2nd tri :hi:

If you look on the Labour and Birth forum, there's a VBAC sticky, and lots of positive VBACs on there. There's some ladies about to VBAC, some like me still a bit of a way off, and some ttc/wtt VBAC hopefuls.

There's lots of info on uterine rupture stats, links to videos and guidelines.....all put together by a fantastic lady called Chuck who had her VBAC last year :)

Thank you everyone! I am thinking that I should be a good candidate for a VBAC. My c-section delivery wasn't complicated and didnt take the doc long. I am a military spouse so my child was delivered at a Naval hospital and one of the other military spouses out here said that they do low transverse insicions for pretty much everyone that they are able to because a lot of girls like to try and do VBAC. However I don't think I will be going to the Naval hospital for my next pregnancy, it was not a pleasant experience with them, but thats another story!

Thanks ladies I really appreciate all the great support.

Going into my first pregnancies, I was one of those girls that wanted everything the all natural way. And end up not only having to be induced, but at 35 weeks, it failed and then needed a csection! Sigh, praying things go better with this pregnancy!
