I was very skeptical about using Vitex and Dong Quai. Then I start researching about it and decided I would purchase a bottle of each for a Chinese Herbalist. My period is irregular every 3-4 months - I didn't really care about it until now because I'm trying to get pregnant. I went to see my doctor and she said I was healthy. She found a few cysts but told me not to worry about it. But she couldn't get me on any drugs that will help me have a regular cycle without going to see a fertility specialist. I decided to purchase a liquid bottle of vitex just to say I tried it - I had to take 1/2 tsp 2-3/day. I took it for 7days and started to notice a difference. My breast was tender, I started to crave chocolate, ice cream, various food, I was cooking up the storm and on the 8th day I got my period. I don't know if it was just a coincidence that this had happened but it felt great. I had a great steady flow all 4 days, until if I do get it it would be 2-3 days and very light. I'm going to start taking it again tomorrow and see how the month of Feb goes. :)

    Quote from another site.
"The key to getting pregnant, besides general health and well being, is ovulation and regular menstrual cycles. Vitex or chaste berry has an excellent track record in relieving complaints in women, caused by hormonal imbalances, known as Premenstrual Syndrome. It may also be helpful for women with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) who do not have a normal menstrual cycle. These women thus don’t ovulate or menstruate and cannot get pregnant. The condition when a woman does not have any menstruation at all is known as amenorrhea."
To read more google Vitex and there are all sort of great information out there.

    good luck

I just started taking Vitex on Jan 17th- so it's about 2 weeks. No results yet as AF has not made an appearance since getting off BC on Jan 5th. (no AF between packs either).

I'm hoping to see something soon. I am taking the capsule form though- i'm reading the liquid may be better so if nothing happens by next week I may buy it.

thank you ladies! I was researching the capsule form. That is what I am wanting. I haven't done much research on the Dong Quai. Vitex is what I am wanting to try to regulate me & hopefully ovualte. I haven't got any yet. But I will probably get some shortly. Yesterday I was very "dry" which is very odd for me so I am trying to figure that out along with my sore boobies lol (Sorry TMI) But thanks again ladies! good luck to all

:Vitex is not for everyone. The reader who reported cysts is right on. I had a super period every fifteen days with heavy bleeding and cramps with little time between periods.
I also developed an ovarian cyst after taking this too powerful chasteberry Vitex for three months. I would not recommend it at all. It's effects were only reversible by four months of discontinuing it and the painful cyst in my ovary is still problematic. In short, it super accelerates your cycles. Scary.
If you are inclined to use it,very small doses. You will not see a radical effect for three months. Then all hell breaks loose.
