Waking in the night after sleeping through?

Kaiden has always has a strict bedtime routine of bath, feed, cuddles, bed. This has worked well for us and has resulted in him sleeping through 7-6 from birth (lucky me!)
we moved house two weeks ago and since then he wakes alot in the night. We have the same routine, at first he started waking a bit earlier in the mornings, around 4-5am, now it's anywhere from 9pm onwards. Last night for example I gave him 7pm feed and put him to bed. Normally that would be it until 6.30am but he had another feed at 9pm and 3am. I also used to cosleep but sucsessfully had him in his cot for the last 2 months, now he's back in our bed!
What would you put this night waking down to? The four month growth spurt? (but it's been going on for two weeks?)
teething? Or the house move? He also used to take five 5oz bottles over 24hours now it's more like seven 7oz bottles. Various friends/family are certain he's ready for weaning, I always wanted to hold out to as long aa 6months As possible and try BLW. I did try him with a little baby rice and he didn't really seem interested at all. But he did eat a few spoonfuls. I'm just worried all my hard work with him sleeping through and getting him in his cot is going to pot! And I'm knackered! Sorry this is long....

I think you've hit the nail on the head yourself - 4m growth spurt, teething and house move could all be the cause. I would forget about the baby rice, especially if you're keen to BLW (I do it and really can't speak highly enough about it) rice doesn't make a baby sleep through anyway, there have been studies about it.
It's an old fashioned myth, of course you'll get people saying it made their LO sleep through but you could never know for definite that it was the rice. The growth spurt probably just passed in its own time.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply! Yeah, the rice didn't seem to help at all, he's still waking in the night so it's no miracal cure! I guess I'll just have to ride it out, and have a chat with my HV when I next see her.

Did u try to up his night feed? Omar used to wake up aftr 2 hrs & it was hunger. When we upped his night feed with extra 2 oz, he went back to his normal routine. xx

Teething could also be the reason, massage his gums with teething gel before his night feed, & if necessary give him Calpol to ease the pain (My Lo's Dr. advise). As for baby rice, I asked his Dr. last wk about it & he gave me a big NO NO.

He's upped all his feeds by 2oz. I always make more than he needs so it's there if he wants it. He has been taking 7oz at 7pm then two hours later will take another 7oz, whereas normally he would take 5oz at 7pm then sleep through till 6.30am!

I did try calpol before bed incase it was his teeth, but in my opinion, didn't help him sleep better or stop him from waking.

Does anyone use hungry baby milk? Do they need to be a certain age? Would this help to give at last feed? He's nearly 5months old...
Thanks

I use anti reflux formula which is thick & filling. I think hungrier baby formula is similar as it's thicker than normal ones & makes ur baby feels full for a longer period.

Hi just wanted to reply as we are going through exactly the same thing, bubba used to sleep from 7-6 but for the last 3 weeks his sleep is all over the place. He'll wake up at 3 then stay awake or doze in and out although last night he woke at 1! He doesnt seem to be extra hungry and doesnt really take more than 2 oz if we give him it so I've just put it down to teething and a very long growth spurt, like you I just hope it passes soon!
Good luck with it xxxx
