Hey guys,

Im on cycle 2. Last cycle I used Boots OPKs and they worked fine but expensive.

This cycle, I bought a pack of 50 IC OPK's from Amazon because they were cheaper. One Step is the brand name and they claim to test at 20mu/l.

No they bloody well do not!!!!!!!!!

I noticed Tesco did a pack of 7 OPKs for £7 so bought some today. The Tesco OPKs test at 40mu/l.

I tested this afternoon with both my Tesco OPK and my IC OPK using the same batch of urine. The IC OPK didnt show ANYTHING, not one tiny little line...nada. The Tesco one showed a line. Ok, it was still a negative test but I could definately see a line. Last cycle before I got a positive, I tested for a few days beforehand and always got a faint line on the Boots OPKs.

If anyone is relying on IC OPKs such as One Step...I suggest you dont. They clearly are a pile of garbage and if I hadnt always planned to check around CD12-CD18 with more expensive OPKs I may have missed my fertile window!!!! :dohh: Not good when I intend to get that BFP this month! :happydance:

Hi hon,

I use One Step OPKs, and they seem to be working fine for me? I always get a visible line, which is very faint during my cycle, and becomes darker as ovulation approaches, until I get a strong positive once the surge is detected?

I always test between 2-4pm.

Who knows? Perhaps it's different for everybody?

I've been testing 3/4 times a day with IC OPKs since I noticed the start of EWCM and the lines have got progressively darker the last couple of days. I got my positive today at 2pm and by 6pm it had gone to a negative as faint as the start of the week. The brand I've been using was Egens.

So, I've got on OK with them but my advice would be to test at least 3 times a day during your fertile period, I could SO easily have missed that surge.

Yeah, I definitely second that.
