Was this a bloody show or just normal after a membrane sweep?

I've been having contractions for a while now, making me think I'm in labour but it turns out it's been false labour just getting my hopes up. Well, Today at around 1:30PM I had a membrane sweep done and I didn't bleed or spot at all from it even though when my doctor pulled her fingers out they were covered in blood. At around 7:30PM I started to have really stringy bloody mucous come out and for the past 5 hours everytime I go pee, there's a ton more. More each time I wipe I mean. I'm 38 weeks and a few days and I'm just wondering for those of you women who've had successful sweeps if this is a good indication that labour will be here shortly. My doctor said that if it doesn't work within the 48 hours that it's supposed to, we'll be talking about inducing next week. It's early but long story short, I've been having false labour for almost 2 months now and the pain is almost unbearable and I've had my labour stopped at 32 weeks, steroid shots at the time and my doctor feels that baby will be perfectly healthy if I'm induced before my due date because of this. Any opinions appreciated. :)

from what ive heard your only meant to be getting light spotting from a sweep so it sounds like you lost your plug. Good Luck xx

After my sweep I had a few specks of blood, by time I walked out the hospital I could feel bits coming away so checked and it was reddy mucus. An hour later contractions started and had him 11 hours later! Sounds promising for you, fingers crossed.xx
