i didnt think i was illegal to have an air rifle i dont even know. We tried reporting someone for shooting birds over the road from us at work, and because it was his private premises, and he was "shooting vermin" he was allowed to continue. I dont think you need a license either, or am i horribly wrong Hopefully a kid doesnt get hold of this one x

think you need a gun licence for even a air rifle (i know my dad's got one!! for his!!)
but the point is, anyone could buy that! Ebay don't allow anything like that..

Yeah my OH has an air rifle and needs a license. But you're right anybody could buy it

Unless it is a very recent law you do not need a liscence for any air riffle below the power of 12 ft. lbs or pistol 6 ft. lbs
You can however be arrested for having it out in a public place or for not transporting it in a case.

I havnt been to my shooting club or done competative shooting for 10 years though so like I said unless its recent.

I do agree though its very irresponsible and just dumb to sell this on facebook

My dad has a licence for all his gun's including air rifle...but I don't know what sort they are or anything...i'm to scared to touch them

Sorry I added a bit after because I realised it looked like I was condoning it whan I wasnt, Iv grown up with guns and have shot in national competitions as well as on army ranges and have alot of respect for guns and it annoys me when people missuse them (any form of firearm) and dont treat them like the dangerous thing they are in the wrong hands.

My OH has 2 air rifles IDK, i think you need a license now but you never use to.

My dad has an air rifle and no license. And OH has a selection of Paintball and Air Soft guns - I know that for the Air soft he has to have a licence IF they resemble a real gun - but if its all stupid bright colours its a 'toy' gun so to speak.

Still means sod all as his mate got into shit on the A9 a few years ago for fannying about with a toy gun in a car - it alarmed some old biddies apparently.
