We are starting our breastmilk-fed bottle baby on pureed sweet peas, and she loves them. She has had a little bit of peas each day for the last week and has been fine. The only issue is that she now only poops once every couple of days. She doesn't seem constipated, just less frequent.

I was wondering if we're supposed to be giving a bottle of water now that she is getting baby food? I remember reading that water can cause problems for very young babies, but LO is 6 months old...

I read I'm a leaflet that its ok to offer water with food, they advise against juice or fizzy drinks though.... Sorry that's all the info I know! The hv gave me a leaflet and it said the above in it! X

I was advised to give water at mealtimes but more to get lo used to drinking out of a sippy cup than water intake. If you want lo to take some extra liquid you can mix milk or water in with their food. :)

Joni has been constipated since weaning and I give her some water in a sippy cup each meal, which seems to help. It hasn't made a difference with her milk intake. I put it in a sippy cup not a bottle and make it cold so she can tell there is a difference between that and milk x
