I'm 26 weeks pregnant with number 3, I'm not sure if I might be leaking waters. I've been feeling a small trickle since late last night, so I put on a pad and went to bed thinking I'd know in the morning, I had tightening and pains all night, and when I got out of bed this morning I'm sure felt some fluid flowing out.
How am I supposed to know whether it is something to worry about or not? I am worried, but as myself and my husband don't drive, I don't really want to go to the MAU if it turns out it is all nothing.

Is there any way that I would KNOW?

Does the fluid have a smell? Like does it smell like urine or sweet? Also is baby sitting around your bladder? If miss kicks my bladder I leak a bit of wee :(
I would definitely give them a call and ask their advice, they'll ask you some questions to make some kind of determination as to what it is and will instruct you whether it's worth going in for a check up. GL xx

Hi Alice

There's no way of knowing, you need to get checked out :hugs: can a family member give you a lift? Or a midwife pop out and see you? Xx

My waters started to leak at 29 weeks I managed to keep baby in until 33 weeks but it was tough I was on bed rest and 2 blood tests a week to check for signs of infection and 3 times a week I had to go to hospital for monitoring of the baby so it really is quite serious so if you suspect there's a slight chance it's waters you need to go.

They will do a examination and take a swap of the fluid to check for amniotic fluid etc the only thing I can say is I leaked more if I'd been lying down then got up. Hope your ok

I'd get it checked, better safe than sorry. But fyi, every morning, about 30 mins to an hour after i wake up i wet my undies. I think the discharge accumulates while i'm sleeping, and then it all comes out in one trickle after i get up. I've been getting this for the past 2 weeks (i'll be 28 weeks tomorrow). I'm quite sure it's just discharge cause it's white and it isn't excessive.

Also, you can find these pads at the pharmacy that change color when in contact with amniotic fluid.

Go and get seen hun. You will just worry if you don't and it's important to get antibiotics asap as well as steroids if it is your waters.

My waters went at 28 weeks with my third so I know it's scary :hugs:

I'd get checked just to be sure. You could also buy some ph amniotic fluid test strips to use in the future to keep an eye on things if you're worried?
