Waters Question (TMI!)

Hiya,

I'm 39weeks tomorrow (eek!!) and have for some reason have become totally paranoid about my waters breaking. I know with some ladies its a gush, others a trickle but is it possible to not know if your waters have gone? The reason I ask is I seem constantly damp (TMI!) 'down there' today, but nothing trickling? I've put a pad in and it gets slightly damp but not that convincing. I've had light period type pains but nothing else. Answers on a postcard please!!

Mine gushed hun so Im not sure, I think even if they trickled there would be enough to soak a pad after an hour or so, hopefully someone else can give you a better idea x

I ha this and kept going in to check but it wasn't. I think when they say trickle they mean it will keep coming and keep trickling. I had to have my waters broken in the end. It's quite rare to 'gush' xx

mine was a trickle was like i peed myself lol and run down my legs onto floor but there was alot

Mine started off as a trickle then I sneezed it gushed and then kept trickling- I think you would know as it wouldn't stop

At the end of my last pregnancy I went to hospital a couple of times to get this very thing checked as I was constantly "damp" turned out it was just increased discharge. I even had a couple of "gushes" (very small ones) but for some weird reason it happened around the same time every day ..?! Anyhoo the midwives told me how to check if it was my waters eeking whilst at home ; lie down for 30mins-1hour then get up, if you feel warm fluid trickling down your leg that you can't stop like you would a wee it's most likely waters, otherwise it's just another glamorous side effect of being heavily pregnant

Mine only gushed as I was already in labour and I was having a contraction, was like someone turned a water hose on in between my legs! I was in the bath when it happened and couldnt get out!!

My 2nd pregnancy i thought mine were slowly coming out i was always damp but nope still all there when i had my sweep, still all there till hollies head came out lmao.

If your water broke, you would have a constant trickle or sudden gushes every now and then thats waht happened with me, and Its not completely clear so if there is no color and you dont feel it odds are its just a discharge (which is normal)... I hope you figure it out! Best of luck

best way to check is... hold a dry damp cloth on your open lips.. lay on your back and cough. xx
