I think we finally have a shortlist for our little man who arrives in December:
- Dylan (my 100% favourite)
- Arlo (too common?)
- Elliott (although I can only say it in a drawn out croaky ET voice!)
- Oscar (too common?)

And for a middle name:
- Ellery
- Lionel (my husbands choice, it means lion cub and we are both Leo's)

What do you think? The surname is Watkins.

Thanks x

I think Dylan Lionel Watkins is adorable :)

I love Dylan Lionel, so so cute!

And i love the reason behind Lionel, brought a tear to my eye!

x

i agree Dylan Lionel sounds lovely and with the meaning behind it, its super cute :D

Dylan & Arlo are both really cute -- Arlo doesn't seem very popular? I don't know any at all??

I think Ellery is a nice middle name -- or maybe Leo? Not personally fond of Lionel (regardless of the meaning) -- May seem cute as a "baby name" but i doubt a grown man will find it cute that his middle name means "lion cub" iykwim

Thanks for the comments ladies. Arlo is a funny one, I don't know any but when you google it, it appears on lots of messageboards as being very popular. It might be one of those names that by the time he starts nursery will be everywhere. I'm sold on Dylan tbh, I've always loved it and am already thinking of him as Dylan, I 'm trying to stop myself though but it's hard  I really like Lionel too but it is very old fashioned and my inital reaction was "don't be ridiculous". I do really like Ellery. So, maybe Dylan Ellery. Oh, decisions, decisions......

I quite like all of those names. Arlo and Elliot are my 2 favs! Dylan is nice but a bit too common
Not fond on Ellery, it seems quite feminine?

Good luck whatever you choose :winkwink:

My favourie is Dylan Ellery, Lionel is one of my dads middle names and never really liked it. x

I like Dylan Lionel, I don't like the way Elliott sounds with either middle name (Elliott is actually the middle name we selected for boy #2). I've never heard of Arlo or Ellery, not digging Arlo, but PLEASE don't go with Elliott Ellery. LOL. Oscar is a cute name, but I'd worry about too much association with Oscar the Grouch esp for a little boy in school. I doubt Sesame Street will ever go away.

Love Dylan! I like the idea of Lionel but don't really like the name! Dylan Leo sounds good!

Is Arlo really that popular? I don't know of any Arlos'!

xx

Dylan is very cute, and i think it goes very nicely with your last name!
